I read this book as part of the yoga teacher training program in which I'm enrolled, and by far it has been my favourite reading so far. Desikachar does not take the dogmatic, religious approach to yoga that others favour. He stresses humility and adjusting one's practice to one's own circumstances. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an introduction to the philosophy of yoga.
