great movie, very fun.watched it when i was a kid , bought it for xmas and it's still as good as i remember.

My husband and I just introduced this film to our 10, 8, and 6 year old. They absolutely loved it. Even though it is not specifically for kids there is no harsh language or inappropriate areas that you need to watch out for and the plot is certainly not hard to follow. They loved all the animals and got a kick out of Red Buttons. They want to watch it over and over, just make sure to start it early in the evening or break it up into two viewings since it is a 2 1/2 hour movie.

My 12 year old daughter asked for this dvd and it is watched at least 4 times weekly by all my children. A very funny, and entertaining story. Not too much of a plot, but that doesn't seem to matter. Just a good, clean movie to entertain all ages.

I love this movie. I think it is one of John Wayne's best. It's very entertaining.

Having recently returned from a Safari in the region in which the movie was filmed, I found it interesting to see the region I'd traveled, but 40 years earlier. The story line is weak, the acting not so hot, but with John Wayne and Red Buttons in the cast, how can a film not be good? It is a long movie so be ready....

Entertaining, great filming, some romance, no bad language or overly adult situations.
