This charming, enchanting celebration of the power of imagination is based on the classic book by Crockett Johnson, which came out in 1955, and has captivated both children and adults ever since. The series follows the adventures of Harold, a cherubic, creative little boy who is wise beyond his years. Harold leaves his house one night to go on a walk in the moonlight. When the moon fails to appear, he uses his trusty purple crayon to draw one, beginning a marvelous tale of wonder and excitement as Harold creates a landscape for himself in which he can learn, grow, and have fun. In this way Harold addresses the thoughts and feelings experienced by young children, while continuing to be an inspiration to adults as well.

Adorable and great for kids!!!
This movie is really cute and this was the place I found the best price on it. My kids love the imagination of Harold and are memorized to the TV when watching him experience his adventures. I even like watching it. A++++++++++++++ and highly recommended.

great purchase
My daugher has been watching this since she was 2. She loves it even now at 3 1/2. It is a great pre bed time wind down. Each episode is about 20 mins. Short and sweet, and ends with Harold going to sleep. The graphics are great, and Sharon Stone narrates, great voice. Great for kids, imaginative and well done.

Harold & the Purple Crayon
I have 2 girls ages 2 and 3. I absolutly love this show and I am glad my girls have taken an interest in Harold. Through out the episodes they play wonderful music and take my kids on great adventures. It is suitable for both boys and girls. I would recommend to anyone with small children.

Great DVD -- it is magnificently simplistic with wonderful stories. My 3 year old grandaughter just loves it and I would highly recommend that eveyone with children have this in their viewining library
