The series follows the adventures of Harold, a cherubic, creative little boy who is wise beyond his years. Harold leaves his house one night to go on a walk in the moonlight. When the moon fails to appear, he uses his trusty purple crayon to draw one, beginning a marvelous tale of wonder and excitement as Harold creates a landscape for himself in which he can learn, grow, and have fun. In this way Harold addresses the thoughts and feelings experienced by young children, while continuing to be an inspiration to adults as well.
