Dain Gingerelli has been writing about cars and motorcycles since 1970. He road-raced motorcycles and cars for 13 years, in the course winning four amateur-class championships and four FIM world endurance speed records. Dain was editor for Iron Works, and his byline and photo credits have appeared on countless motorcycle and automotive magazine articles. He has authored seven books, most recently The Hot Rod Idea Book (Motorbooks, 2009). He lives in Mission Viejo, California.

An award-winning writer and photographer, Randy Leffingwell worked for years as a staff photographer for the Los Angeles Times. He photographed many of the motorcycles that appeared in The Art of the Motorcycle, for which he developed a lighting technique that he perfected when photographing The Harley-Davidson Motor Co. Archive Collection. He is MBI’s best-selling author. Randy lives in Santa Barbara, California.

Ask just about any motorcycle fan, and they’ll tell you that Harley-Davidson builds the ultimate motorcycle. And the motorcycles housed in Harley-Davidson’s Archive Collection represent the best of the best. Harley-Davidson Museum® Masterpieces tells the story of this amazing company through the incredible motorcycles it builds, selected from the hundreds of motorcycles in the Archive Collection. Portrait-quality photography of the book taken by expert lenseman Randy Leffingwell reveals the remarkable journey of America’s motorcycle company, from its humble beginnings to its nearly century-long dominance of an entire industry.
