Issued a full decade after Hanson`s major-label debut, MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, 2007`s THE WALK finds siblings Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson far from their precocious "MMMBop" beginnings, with all of the brothers married and, in some cases, fathers. Continuing in the more mature vein of `04`s UNDERNEATH, this outing finds the Tulsa, Oklahoma-based trio still nodding to their soul-inspired roots (see the funky and slightly melancholy "Something Going Round"), while staying in a guitar-driven rock direction. While some bands flounder in post-major scenarios, Hanson have thrived by setting up their own label (3CG) and remaining true to their own collective muse, a point hit home by the emotive and assured "Great Divide," one of the many standout tracks on THE WALK.
