Master director Quentin Tarantino (PULP FICTION) indulges his inner fanboy by paying homage to his favorite B-movies in DEATH PROOF. Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks beautiful women with his deadly vintage car, but when he picks a trio of tough girls (Rosario Dawson, Tracie Thoms, and Zoe Bell), he learns they aren?t such easy prey. As with any Tarantino film, there are plenty of nods to pop culture. Most of the scenes are deliberately short on plot development, the dialogue comes thick and fast throughout, and the film stock is often cleverly manipulated to perfectly replicate the B-movie aesthetic. DEATH PROOF was originally released as part of the GRINDHOUSE double feature with Robert Rodriguez`s PLANET TERROR.

Great

I absolutely love this movie, it's not for everyone though. If you love crazy zombie-ish movies then this is definitely for you. As always, overstock was amazingly fast

Quintin at his best

If you are a QT fan, this is a MUST see! One of the best films I have seen in a long time. Very artisticly done, GREAT acting, great filming, great stunts, great plot .....you get the picture. Had to show it to about 5 friends already. No complaintes yet. Trust me, if you are a QT fan, you'll love it. If not, you might not really understand the style in which the film was made. Enjoy!

It did not meet my expecations for a Quintin Tarrentino film, the launguage used by the females was atroucious, I would not watch it more than once.

Grindhouse is a Perfect Theme!!!

johnnybe from Redwood City, CA, Nov 6, 2007

I have enjoyed almost all of Quentin Tarantino's avant garde work, especially "Pulp Fiction" which I believe set a new standard of frank tough inner city reality that has yet to be topped in the Movie Industry. His blend of sequel like stories within the body of the frame work of his pieces was also quite evident in his "Kill Bill" series. "Death Proof" however, is more of a gritty, ultra violent ,new age Sam Pekinpah genre flick with some of the most refreshing and new talented actors I have seen in recent years. This movie is not for the squeemish, however, so keep the Kids under 14 out of the familty room and be prepared for some extremely violent and graphic car crashes orchestrated by the main character, retired stunt car driver Kurt Russell. The music track is fantastic, and even inspired me to purchase a CD of "Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich"'s hit songs from circa mid 1960's featured during this flick. A "must see" for Quentin fans!!!!!
