Food for Thought

rakeroo2 from WV, Jan 23, 2008

Some readers might find this book a bit disappointing because it is a short read, and the dog photographs do not directly relate to the text. However, it is a touching and thought-provoking exploration of the author's attachment and love for a dog that was an integral part of her - and her family's - life, and the struggle with end-of-life issues nearly everyone has to face at some point in their own lives. Those readers who have had an abiding relationship with a pet will probably appreciate the book more than others, but it truly relates to us all...

Love this lab story

YODASMOM from Chillicothe, OH, Jan 16, 2008

I loved this book about a black lab and its life. I have two labs and could relate to the things that this lab did in its life. The book is well written and tells a good story. My only complaint is it is very short. I wish there had been a little more told about the dogs life while it was growing up. I could write at least 20 chapters on my 4 year old lab. Overall I liked the book I just wish it lasted a little longer.

A very good title

Anonymous from Florida, Dec 21, 2007

This book is more a short essay than a book. It is a very brief account of the life with a beloved dog. The dog is being put down, and the author is sharing the ordeal. The book has been padded with many pictures of dogs, most of whom are not THE dog in the book. I am glad I purchased the book at a discount, or I would feel ripped off. The narrative is easy to read and entertaining. It will take about 30 minutes to read.

Good Dog, Stay

Easy to read, writing style as simple as casual conversation. None of the philosophical comparisons of the dog's life versus the human life alluded to in the book description.
