  • Good science fiction

I hgave not read previous stross titles but I picked this one because others had said that it was a good treatment of themes such as "What is human?" and "what makes up an identity?". I found the point of view narrative intriguing as the main character had iderntity altered and memories altered through technologies, social pressure, and drugs. At times the book is amusing and other times quite frightening. A great book also for themes of mind control and the nature of love. Way above most of the other sci fi out there today.
