Radio Lover, Raven`s third collection of George Jones hits, concentrates on the `80s when he was steadily working with Billy Sherrill and hitting the charts with grand melodramatic ballads. Chief among those is "He Stopped Loving Her Today," the iconic hit that opens this collection and sets the tone for the other 24 tracks here. Sometimes the songs get considerably sillier than this -- there`s "Wino the Clown" and "Ol` George Stopped Drinkin` Today" for comic relief -- but Radio Lover stands out from the many Jones comps by focusing on those slow, rich ballads that showcased him at a mature peak.
