An informative text with delightful full-color illustrations, photographs, fabric swatches. For the serious vintage fashion connoisseur or admirer, it is organized from the decades starting with the 1920s through the 1980s. Key points of elemental styles are noted, important & influential designers, and a summary of the decade's looks are featured for each decade. At the end, there is a shopping guide, glossary, and a designer list. This book changed my mind about my favorite decade, the 50's and now I've added the 70s to an impressive decade for fashion, Check out the VINTAGE SHOES from the same publisher. Great together!

This is a good book, however not as good as the first in the series. This one contains alot less variety than the first. Overall though, I am very pleased with the product.

I purchased this book and volume one for my brother and he loves them both. He's a tattoo artist so this book was perfect for him!

Excellent and dazzling pictures, wonderfully readable text - but it all seems too brief and too short to cover the subject, you'll want more. Other reviewers have commented that this book is a shorter compliation of another; a larger & longer book, so the overall design of it does make sense from that standpoint. Truly, this subject could cover a lot more than this book has room for - probably many volumes - but as an introduction, it's excellent. Not quite as large as the standard coffee-table book, the photographs and illustrations are vivid and interesting (particularly the 3-D style line drawings depicting the artists' architectural visions on 2-dimensional walls) and you'll want to actually READ the text - not just look at the pretty pictures. Most of the photographs and illustrations focus on Pompeii, but there are also a few from Herculaneum & other villas.
