There are certainly football players in FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, and there are coaches and arenas, championship games and die-hard fans. But even in its third year, this is still not a show about sports: it¿s a finely tuned, closely observed portrait of modern life in a small Texas town. At its heart lies one family--Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler), his wife, Tami (Connie Britton), and their teen and infant daughters--whose daily trials and triumphs are authentic instead of operatic, and are all the more compelling in their subtlety. Season Three finds the students and citizens of Dillon reaching to improve their lot: Tami takes a new job as the high school principal; the star player, Smash Williams (Gaius Charles), prepares for college try-outs; and soft-spoken quarterback Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) looks for new ways to care for his aging grandmother. This collection includes every episode from the 2008-2009 season.
