This is one of my favorite movies. It's a must for your movie collection.
I really liked this movie when I first saw it and have it on VHS. I am so happy to have found it on DVD. The basis of this movie is Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley are a married couple who are at discord and happen to be very very rich. Tim's accountant has dipped into the pot and has left town to avoid the tax collectors, all unkown to Tim. Credit cards become cancelled to Tim and Kirstie. Along the way they have left town in a stolen taxi and end up in Intercourse, Penn., an Amish town. They steal some Amish clothing and pose as visiting relitives to a family who they will live with for a time and learn the Amish way of life. This is comical and lighthearted and soon they begin to adjust. I think the ending should remain a surprise but everyone should know it is a charming movie and fun for the family. If I remember correctly there may be a few curse words but nothing too alarming.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, but then I like Tim Allen & have not been disappointed in any of his movies thus far. For Richer or Poorer in the end put the emphasis on the important things in life which are those with lasting value. I do question if there are any benefits to younger viewers, though.
This is a clean movie, very good entertainment, the kind of movie you can watch over and over.
