  I was expecting more of a how-to, or instructional book about setting up aquarium ecosystems. While Amano does list the "ingredients" he uses to create the environments, this book is presented like an artist's monograph. If you have any interest in aquariums, Japanese gardens, or art in general, you may find this book inspiring. If you are looking for information on building and sustaining an aquatic ecosystem, you might want to add a few other books to your shopping cart. :)

  i bought this as a gift for my brother-in-law and he loves it. i also reviewed the book before i gave it to him and learned a few things. this book is very informative. this is a great book to give to either a beginner or someone like myself who has had a water garden for over 20 years.

  This is an excellent book covering every aspect of the care of Oscar fish. I have read several fish and aquarium books that cover some aspects of everything. This book is dedicated to the Oscar alone and is very informative. I would recommend it to anyone caring for Oscars.
