This system was a good idea but flawed in its execution. First off, the game cartridges kept getting stuck in the cartridge port. I had to use a lot of strength to get the games out, and I worried the system would break, that's how tight it was. EA sports games did not play (but did play all the rest). Also, on Sonic the Hedgehog, the level select code would NOT work; this was a big problem for me because I want to jump to the level I want to play (Spring Yard Zone, etc) without going through the early level all over again. This system is ideal for little kids, for people who do not care about level select and the finer aspects of video gaming. Definitely not for a mature gamer, buy it for the kids if anything.

This system is good for those people who want to go back to those sega genesis days; I mean you get a huge bundle especially with 2 controllers and 20 games included. I recommend an older television because the new flat screen tv's make the game play look cheap but you can always change the resolution on a flat screen to make it look better. Overall, I enjoy the system and I will buy other games to go with it!

The Firecore console is a mediocre piece of equipment that I'm not keen on. It doesn't work completely as advertised, and is generally a cheap knock-off of what it purports to be. I'm surprised that Sega licensed their name to this machine. The system is easy to hook up and would probably make a good video game toy for a younger kid, if it were on sale for $20 or less. Basically it is not a good reproduction of the real Genesis console. Pros: It does come with 20 preloaded games. It also comes with 2 controllers, ac adapter, and 2ch vid/aud rca cable. Easy to hook up, easy to get going. Cons: Poor sound emulation on a lot of games. A lot of cartridges won't play at all (I haven't gotten any EA Sports games to work). Some games have glitchy graphics that render sprites incorrectly. Whole unit and controllers are all cheaply made and don't feel like they'll last.

I WAS EXCITED TO BUY THIS GAME BECAUSE I HAVE SOME GAMES FROM THE ORIGINAL CONSOLE AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT IT CAME WITH 20 GAMS ALREADY INSTALED. AND I KNOW THE MANUAL SAYS MAY NOT PLAY ALL GAME BUT IT DIDN'T PLAY ANY OF THEM AND I HAVE ABOUT 10 TO 15 TO TRY OUT, SO I AM UNHAPPY ABOUT THAT AND THE PICTUER FOR THE OTHER GAMES ARE REALLY BLURRY HARD TO PLAY... SO ALL IN ALL IF I KNEW WHAT I KNOW NOW ABOUT THIS PRODUCT I WOULD HAVE NEVER BUYED THIS FIRE GENESIS GAME CONSOLE...

Awesome system. Says that it may not play every old Sega game, but I bought Aladdin and it works perfectly. GREAT gift. It comes loaded with 20 games but I'm really excited to get more games for it and see if they work. Comes with everything needed to play and two controllers. Very small in size, , maybe about 2.5 inches in height and the dimensions of about a large loaf of bread. Close to the size of an old Sega game itself... Overall, awesome product, I'll probably be buying a few as gifts later on.

After using the Sega Genesis for years, it finally broke. I don't have any young people living here but the our Children, Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews come and enjoyed this replacement equipment.It didn't cost any more then a used Genesis, and came loaded with 20 games. What a deal.Thanksgiving, when I had 10 people over, it was a hit.You can't miss purchasing this item.I wouldn't recommend this for anyone under 5 because of eye/hand coordination difficulties, but it is a great deal.
