  • Great if you just want to hit the ground running

I purchased this and 101 Workouts for Women from Overstock, after checking them and several other workout books from the library. I wanted something that could transition me from my personal trainer to working out myself. Both books do this. I don’t know if you need both. The 101 workouts is probably the one I would get if I could only get one. The workouts and weekly workout plans are like reading a recipe—so easy to write down and take with you to the gym. They show you how to adjust as you get stronger. I found most of it very similar to what my personal trainers have shown me. I just cannot afford to keep going to them but they give you a good kick start and this book continues with that. There is little space wasted on understanding why you should workout. This is good if you are in ok shape and have worked out before or don’t need a real kick start. There is some nutritional information. • Ball exercise book

I have been going to physical therapy for a year for back and neck issues due to a genetic condition. I have progressed so well, and needed a new challenge. this book, and the book on BOSU ball exercises has given me many options to change up my routine for home PT and exercise. Some of these are fun to do...others very challenging. I take the book with me to PT, I pick a couple of new exercises, (or some of my fellow patients pick them as long as the PT approves them doing them) to do something new to the mix. We all learn something new, try a new exercise that may target a new muscle group, and have fun experimenting with it.

  • Good book with some Great Information!

I am a healthcare professional and this book was recommended to me by a colleague. This book contains a lot of good hints as to how and why things work in women the way they do. It is a positive book that helps guide you to make lifestyle changes that you can live with forever. One of my favorite recommendations in this book is to "Fake it until you make it!" That has become my daily mantra!

This is an excellent book with step by step color photos. I recommend it as a supplement to beginning classes or for those that just want to practice at home.
