Bought it a as gift for my wife. She tried it for awhile but found it more difficult than described and lost interest quickly. She does plan to try it again when she can allow more time to practice. I have purchased this gift for my brother. My father was in a band when he was younger and I have his very first guitar. It is something my brother has always commented that he would love to have. But of course he has no idea how to play the guitar. Having recently graduated College and moved away from family he is always complaining that he needs something constructive to do while at home. So along with my father's guitar he will be receiving this guitar lesson as well from me. I will have to admit although he has yet to get the gift from me (for christmas). I checked it out when I got it. It is a very impressive learning system. The packaging is really sturdy and presents well. The lessons may seem advanced for a first timer. But my brother is a quick learner and I think it will keep his interest a lot longer. I am very pleased with the purchase.

When it comes to playing the guitar, I am not a true beginner - I used to play back in my high school days. However, I was VERY RUSTY and bored with what I used to play on the guitar. This method got me learning new things right away. I am very happy with it so far, but I think it would be difficult for someone who never played guitar at all.

Also like the video/book format, and most especially, the inclusion of popular music songs formatted for quick assimilation by begining guitar players. If my first music teacher (piano) had done this instead of miring me in the classics, I would still be playing today.

Esteban is an amazing guitarist and a great teacher as well. An applied student will gain much from this course. Although he starts off with the basics, you will find that he moves along quite quickly which may be a bit intimidating for total beginners.
