  • Great Guide for a Trip to Wyoming

    Sep 19, 2011

    swjune  from Ohio, Rating:5.0

I purchased this book before taking a trip to Wyoming with a geologist. It helped me to learn about what I was seeing from my car window and made so that I could have an intelligent conversation with my fellow traveler. As a non-scientist, I was able to understand the information in the book easily. I will be looking for more books in the "Roadside Geology" for future travels.

I was surprise how detail this book really is. Information such as this can not be found very easy through google just way too many interesting areas broken down in smaller sections of Wisconsin

A great book for traveling by car through the highways and byways of AZ. It explains various geological formations, what they're made of and how they were formed. Makes any road trip a lot more interesting for anyone interested in geology.

As usual with all my purchases from OverStock, the book came immediately iin great condition. I heard about this book from a class I am currently taking on environmental science. If you want a visual summary of the book, National Geographic did a commentary on it. You can view the commentary on YouTube. The book contains lots of scientific terms and what not, but i've enjoyed reading it just for general knowledge and entertainment. It talks about the world before us, what we did to it while we are here, and what it would be like if we disappeared into thin air one day. It gives insight on how long certain cities would last without humans and if that city would ever be able to go back to the way it was before us. You wouldn't believe how much we've done to this world.
