THEODOR SEUSS GEISEL—aka Dr. Seuss—is one of the most beloved children’s book authors of all time. FromThe Cat in the Hat to Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, his iconic characters, stories, and art style have been a lasting influence on generations of children and adults. The books he wrote and illustrated under the name Dr. Seuss (and others that he wrote but did not illustrate, including some under the pseudonyms Theo. LeSieg and Rosetta Stone) have been translated into thirty languages. Hundreds of millions of copies have found their way into homes and hearts around the world. Dr. Seuss’s long list of awards includes Caldecott Honors for McElligot’s Pool, If I Ran the Zoo, andBartholomew and the Oobleck, the Pulitzer Prize, and eight honorary doctorates. Works based on his original stories have won three Oscars, three Emmys, three Grammys, and a Peabody.

Celebrate sleep with Dr. Seuss’s classic rhyming good-night picture book. Van Vleck, a very small bug, is getting sleepy, and his yawn—contagious as yawns are—sets off a chain reaction, making all those around him feel sleepy, too! With typically Seussian nods to alarm clocks, sleepwalking, and snoring, this charming ode to bedtime will lull listeners (and readers) toward dreamland. Zzzzzzzzzz.

This has been my favorite bedtime book since I was so young and now I am reading it to my children. I hope it becomes a favorite for them as well. The book came quickly and was packaged just fine. And I have been thrilled to have it in my home now that I'm grown and have kids of my own.

    • Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book

This book was listed as good for newborns. It seems rather large and cumbersome to hold a baby in one arm and try to read this rather long book in the other. I can see it being very good for a little older child, perhaps a toddler. Otherwise I was very happy with order and received it in an appropriate time.

    • Dr. Seuss' Sleep Book

Anytime you can purchase a Dr. Seuss book at a reduced price it is a good thing. This book , along with most all of the other Dr. Seuss books for children, is well written in a rhyme format that makes it easy and fun for young children to listen. Since reading to a child before bedtime is a good time for the parent to capture their child's attention and imaginations this book is aptly titled "Sleep Book". I also think that this particular book makes bedtime fun for small children who resist going to bed.
