I have been trying to encourage our night owl to sleep and thought this might be a good book to add to the rotation. It is really fun and a good read. However, it gives talking points for the child who wishes not to sleep. I give it a cautious thumbs up. It is fun but a bit dangerous for those kids who now will have more excuses.
We had read one Mo Willems book previously and bought this one as a gift for our 22 month old. She loves it but hasn't had a chance to read it very much because her older sister (3) and older brother (almost 5) keep taking it for their story time. Very cute and interactive.

I think I enjoy this book even more than my 2 year old. We both get a kick out of the story. My daughter is always asking to read the pigeon books.
My three year old son doesn't like to go to bed (which child does?). However, it's fun to read this book to him which is about a pigeon who doesn't want to sleep. The parallels are funny. It is also interactive because my son will tell the Pigeon 'no' to his requests to stay up late. Role Reversal at its funniest. I think I enjoy this book more than my son!
