Trumpeter, composer, and occasional arranger Dizzy Gillespie was one of the jazz musicians of the mid 1940s who put bebop on the map. By 1957, he was an established giant and one of the few who could afford his own big band, combining hot bop with the verities of big band swing. COOL BREEZE features dazzling, inspired arrangements by some of the masters of the art, including Benny Golson, Quincy Jones, and legendary composer/pianist Tadd Dameron.
