I have been searching for a more "science" way of getting my life in better shape, starting with diet and exercise. Since purhasing this book I have lost 36 lbs and have gained more lean muscle. Great way to get you on the right track. But with all routines you must have the drive to want to get in better shape. This has allowed me to stay in line and i feel better than when I was a teen.

This is the first book about dieting that actually makes a whole lot of sense. This book explains how foods react with each of the 4 different blood types. If nothing else has worked for you, then you need to read this book.

Where do I start? I can't say enough positive words about this book! The information in this book is amazing! I started a healthy lifestyle a little over a year ago. I always worry about my health. I do not agree with traditional prescriptions, as the side effects are ALWAYS worse than the benefits. I also do not agree with the barbaric treatment of cancer. Chemotherapy, Radiation, etc. This book opens your eyes and proves that cancer can be cured through your diet! Do your research and you will see for yourself! A must read book for anyone who wants to prevent or treat cancer in a natural way!

I purchased this paperback because I've tried almost every diet out there with moderate success. I went to Michael Thurmonds website and the package is costly. Buying this book on overstock was the best decision I could have made. I lost all the weight I wanted in such a short amount of time and the cost was minimal. The plan is easy to follow and the only exercise I did was walk. I started with walking a mile and then 3 miles. The only thing I had to get used to was eating so often. It works!!!!

This book is a great guide if you want to learn how to eat right and lose weight. This is NOT a diet but a healthy and smart way to eat.

This book is meant to be for someone who has already been on the Fat Smash Diet so I was a bit disappointed. I now have to get the other book to try that one first. But it seems like a diet worth looking into..

I've been following the BFC plan for several months and am happy to say I've lost over 20 pounds and over 6 inches from my waist. Best of all, this isn't a "diet", its a program that helps you shift your eating habits for a healthier lifestyle - it's simple and sustainable. I've tried a lot of other diet programs, but they were too hard to maintain. But beyond the weight loss, I feel so much better in terms of energy. I was eating so much sugar in an average day that was hidden in foods I thought were healthy. The book distills all the key information from the program, and includes many recipies, all with color photo's. It also has a big section on good and bad food choices at the supermarket. It's a small investment in your health and your future!

I found the book very helpful though where I live it is difficult to find some of the items. Eliminating wheat, dairy, most meats, and sugar makes for a tough road in America but I have found some things that work. I've always been a whole grain gal so that part is easy. However, the use of only organic everything is not affordable for most people. That will be difficult until more folks are purchasing organic and the prices go down. She disagrees with other reading I have done about green tea, so I have not cut it out and don't plan to. I thought at first the diet was really helping but only time will tell in the long run.

This book has a lot of good information about physiology and how hormones work. If you have an endocrine disorder it will really help you understand what's going on in your body. However, the diet advice was not very comprehensive and sort of contradictory to other things I've read. Overall I'd say it's worth reading, but if you're looking for more of a fitness plan I would not say this is going to be a good choice.

This book not only describes the diet but gives you wonderful recipies and menu plans to follow. I eat so much on this the first 2 weeks I just don't see how I can be losing weight, but I am. Personally, I don't go for a different entre every day, I cycle every 3 days or so because I am the only person at my home on this diet and I didn't want a lot of left overs not being eaten. The beginning means a lot of food preparation, but that is just start-up. It gets easier to prepare meals as you get certain things on hand. If you commit yourself to this diet, it works. I'm stuffed after every meal. I am never hungry which is unusual for me on a diet.

I am interested in learning to eat more vegan meals, but this book doesn't make a good case to be vegan. Socially I find it difficult to eat a lacto-ovo diet without being a social pariah and attitudes expressed in the book do not help. The language in this book is gratutious and it becomes tedious. The nutrition information is not factual and the book can argue in one chapter that we shouldn't drink milk because only northern europeans did that, thus everyone else is lactose intolerant (besides stating that milk has pus in it because the cows are milked 24/7) Really? Later in the book there is a rant about the low carb diets and how we should eat lots of fruit, especially mangos, papayas and other tropical fruits. Not a bad idea, just interesting that those foods would have been available to a limited population until recent generations. The cookbook has some good recipes. Skip the set and buy Veganomicon.

I have been under allergists for 30+ years due to a variety of problems. Recently I was tested via a new blood test that was recommended by my allergist since it covered much more than the standard allergy test. As a result I found that I was eating a lot of foods that were not right for me and changed my diet. About six months later I picked up this book at a library sale and looked at type O recommendations. They matched what my very expensive blood test results indicated. Recently I visited my allergist and shared my experience, that this book aligned with the blood test and she agreed with the book. I wish I had known 50 years ago what this book indicates, my health would have improved at a much younger age but I find that even though I am in my seventies my physical reaction to an appropriate diet showed dramatic improvement and a much improved energy level. I purchased a number of these books and gave them to my descendants who all have sensitive systems.

This book was really helpful and letting me know what I should and should NOT be eating. Although the diet is really hard to follow it REALLY works if you can do it. It took me a couple days to get a full 6 days that I was faithful on the diet, but who's counting?

Well, I found the concept of the diet interesting, but I can't say I 100% agree with Dr D'Adamo. Everyone needs a balanced diet, but the book basically says that due to what your blood type is your diet should be (vegetarian, vegan, carnivorous, etc). I agreed with some of his points that made sense, like your body being able to better when you consume unrefined foods , but others like your personality is correlated with blood type is non-sense. For example: my blood type is A+, he says that type A's are paranoid and cannot deal with pressure, and essential crack under pressure. That is absolutely untrue for me, because everybody marvels at how I deal with stressful situations. I logically handle situations, and I am most definitely not paranoid.

This is a great book if you have tried everything else and ready to give up. The recipes are "good". Yes, I said "good". The eating plans make sense. You are not just eating boiled chicken like most diet plans. The way she explains to you what each food is and why you are eating it during the different stages was great for me. I didn't know mangos had one of the most sugars in fruit. And I'm a foodie! I am on day 10 and have lost 4 lbs. Losing slowly will keep it off!! And I have not gotten hungry! Love, love this book.

Perfect, what a great price for a book that gave me all the information I was looking for. I would also recommend getting the MS Recovery Diet book. Between the two it will answer many question about MS and a special diet that made me feel great. I lost 20 lbs within weeks and I never felt better. I feel like my old self again!
