The Maker’s Diet Revolution, the 10 Day Diet to lose weight and detoxify your body, mind and spirit by Jordan Rubin The author Jordan Rubin wrote this book and The Maker’ Diet after becoming very sick with Crohn’s disease. The book is divided into two parts. The first is CLEASING YOUR BODY and the spiritual benefits of fasting. He teaches the importance of water, raw fruit, veggies, nuts and seeds, and their health benefits. The second part is BUILDING YOUR BODY, by rebuilding and restoring your body‘s internal ecosystem. We learn the powerful health agents found in herbs and spices, how electrolytes found in minerals help our body to function properly. We are even provided with recipes, list of food good to eat and which to avoid. I really enjoyed how he backs his diet with scriptures and biblical teachings. I would recommend this book for anyone looking to change their lives, lose weight and become healthier in the mind, body and spirit. I give this book 4 stars for being both educational and spiritual. I want to thank the author Jordan Rubin, publisher and The Book Club Network Inc for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book concentrates on the meals that go with the Abs Diet book. Although the Abs Diet and Abs Diet for Women all have recipes, it good to have this book that focuses mainly on the food preparation. Easy to follow with practical, likeable foods.

Book content was not for me. Some recommended food I had never heard of. I was looking for recommendations for simple basic foods. I think the book went into a garage sale. Don't buy it.

I found the book very helpful though where I live it is difficult to find some of the items. Eliminating wheat, dairy, most meats, and sugar makes for a tough road in America but I have found some things that work. I've always been a whole grain gal so that part is easy. However, the use of only organic everything is not affordable for most people. That will be difficult until more folks are purchasing organic and the prices go down. She disagrees with other reading I have done about green tea, so I have not cut it out and don't plan to. I thought at first the diet was really helping but only time will tell in the long run.

I've been following the BFC plan for several months and am happy to say I've lost over 20 pounds and over 6 inches from my waist. Best of all, this isn't a "diet", its a program that helps you shift your eating habits for a healthier lifestyle - it's simple and sustainable. I've tried a lot of other diet programs, but they were too hard to maintain.But beyond the weight loss, I feel so much better in terms of energy. I was eating so much sugar in an average day that was hidden in foods I thought were healthy.The book distills all the key information from the program, and includes many recipies, all with color photo's. It also has a big section on good and bad food choices at the supermarket. It's a small investment in your health and your future!

As a diabetic, the information in this book finally gave me a game plan to reach blood sugar levels that are normal. As a Type II diabetic taking oral medication I have worked very hard to reach blood sugar levels of 100 or less. While I worked hard faithfully following the diet plan designed for me by a registered dietician and exercised as many days of the week as possible, I could never really achieve the goal of a blood sugar of 100 or less.My diet plan called for 12 carb servings a day and really never gave me a guideline to track sugar grams. S/C of 15/6 in this book has done the trick. After reading the book my husband and I tracked how many sugar and carb grams we were eating for a day. We were shocked at how it added up. More shocking was the realization that although we were eating prescibed number of carbs there is way too much sugar in everything we were eating. For example the milk on our morning oatmeal has nearly as many sugar grams as this diet allows in a day. Now we are reading every label for every food we eat. While I have not lost much weight so far, I am feeling so much better and am not hungry all the time from the fluctuation of high and low blood sugars. I have only been on this program for two weeks, have lost 3 pounds and know that this is a program that I can follow for life! Thank you Jorge.

I haven't used the journal yet but have looked it over. It appears to be exactly what the Mayo Book said it would be. It could be used with another diet but its best with the companion Mayo Clinic Diet book, also sold by Overstock. The Mayo clinic Diet is wonderful and is compatable with those who may be Type II diabetics..

This book is a great guide if you want to learn how to eat right and lose weight. This is NOT a diet but a healthy and smart way to eat.

These ladies say it like it is! So that much is good. They are down on smoking and drinking too much and all the bad stuff we know we shouldn't be doing. But their "diet" plan is a mess. It's highly unlikely that most people would be able to afford or find the time to shop for and prepare their stiff list of products. As an overall read-for-entertainment book I like it. But as a book that helps with diet or exercise, it's not the best.

After reading the Digest Diet, I looked forward to seeing the cookbook. One of my first concerns was were there any repeated recipes in the new cookbook that the Digest Diet shared. I am happy to say there is not! There are 150 new recipes to help on your 21 day diet! The first part of the book gives reviews the important concepts of the Digest Diet. I liked this I didn’t have to get my Digest Diet book out. One thing that impressed me is these recipes is encourage and explain the need for ‘good’ fats in our diet. I am totally against the non-fat diet craze that has been around for so many years. All the recipes help you to incorporate and use the much needed ‘good’ fats’. Also included in the recipes are the foods 13 foods they refer to as ‘Fat Releasers”. This makes it so easy to prepare meals and eat the foods that are key in your weight loss. Suggestions for stocking your pantry, freezer, and kitchen are made so that you have everything you need to make meal preparation easy. While there are rules, there is also flexibility. There are helpful, multiple brand name suggestions for different foods throughout the book. I thought this was great because it makes finding what you need at the grocery store so easy! I was excited to see pages that help create your own snacks. There was a lot of variety and combinations! For those with allergies there is a table of suitable swaps for foods used in the recipes and also another table of non-dairy sources of calcium. Recipe categories are: Breakfasts Soups Main Dishes Salads Side Dishes Desserts Each category is divided into the phases of the diet: Fat Release, Fade Away, and Finish Strong, This way you can quickly locate the recipes available for the phase you are in. I like that in each and every recipe they listed the Fat Releasers that are in it. Not only for the information, but it also gives you a sense of accomplishment in your diet. Every time you eat you are being proactive in losing weight! I found the special menus included very useful. These menus are: Quick Fix Vegetarian Dairy Free Cooking for One On a Budget. These also are divided into the diet phases. The recipes are varied, tasty, and easy to prepare. The full page color pictures were wonderful in helping me choose what I want to fix. What I find so great and unique about the Digest Diet and Digest Diet Cookbook is how they have done everything to help you succeed in your weight loss goals. A cookbook you will want to own, even if you aren’t dieting and just want to eat healthy! I received this book free from FBS Pulishers. I was not required to write a positive review. I am a medical professional, so I am always skeptical when the next, newest, best diet fad comes out. This book has solid facts (I checked them out). It is easy to read, easy to understand, and easy to do. I'm looking forward to losing weight!

I do not have ANY issues with the product because I think the product is right on. I think anyone with health issues from inflammation not able to loose 5 or 10 pounds should look into the blood type diet and research the lectins that are in different foods and how they affect different blood types. It makes a world of a difference in how one looks and even more, how one feels. This and the other books by this author are great. My only suggestion here is NOT to order from this web site as the delivery time was 3 weeks. This time frame is not acceptable for me.

Excellant book with tons of great information. i will not be able to live on a total "raw" diet but have many guidelines on nutrition that I have learned from this book. I highly recommend it.

I have been searching for a more "science" way of getting my life in better shape, starting with diet and exercise. Since purhasing this book I have lost 36 lbs and have gained more lean muscle. Great way to get you on the right track. But with all routines you must have the drive to want to get in better shape. This has allowed me to stay in line and i feel better than when I was a teen.

This book was really helpful and letting me know what I should and should NOT be eating. Although the diet is really hard to follow it REALLY works if you can do it. It took me a couple days to get a full 6 days that I was faithful on the diet, but who's counting?

This book is great for people wanting to begin a new diet. It is easy to follow and the weight comes off if you stick to the diet. I have allready passed it on to my friends. Finally, a diet that deals with the basic food groups and exercise --- where has it been all of my life!
