Kirk Douglas and Eleanor Parker give Oscar noteworthy performances in this Big Screen version of the Broadway play of the same name. One of the best, realistic, and riveting 50's flicks of its genre, with a wonderful and humourous additional co-star role of a young Lee Grant as a shoplifter. Rounding off the cast is Kirk's best buddy on the force, William Bendix, who shines in his role as the wise and stable cop veteran. Absolutely superb!!!
Gripping writing. Powerful acting. Eleanor Parker acts her head off. The passion of the characters comes through in an intensely moving way.
