Artist:
Garrett, David (Violin)
Description:
Audio Remasterer: Tom Coyne.
Feisty re-imaginings of beloved songs from the pop, folk, and classical canon make violinist David Garrett`s self-titled album an unpredictable and joyous listen. Garrett--a former student of Itzhak Perlman--has remarkable control over his tone, guiding his violin to sound tremblingly sweet ("Nothing Else Matters"), bluesy and soulful ("Ain`t No Sunshine"), jaunty ("Zorba`s Dance"), and even aggressive and artfully harsh ("Thunderstruck"), a versatility that allows him to cover Metallica and traditional Hungarian folk dances with equal aplomb.

    David Garrett

novisitor from Renton, WA, Nov 4, 2009

This is an awesome CD of Violin at its greatest potential. David Garrett's self-titled 4th album is a must have for anyone who loves music---modern or classical. David Garrett is a truly gifted 28 year-old who has played since 4 years-old and is extraordinarily talented. He is considered in the 2010 World Book, the fastest violinist, having played The Flight of The Bumblebee in just over a minute!

A great CD for a long or short driving trip. The only thing better is seeing him on PBS or live.

    Very Good

clifft1 from Central Rhode Island, Sep 6, 2009

David Garrett is great, I love his music but was supprised to question the Violin he was playing in this CD. I have a tape of his live concert in Berlin and the violin he plays there is so much brighter with an incredable unique sound it doesn't sound as the same one to me. Maybe it is just the recording, I'm not sure but it surely sounds inferior. Other wise I would rate the CD 5 star.

Have you heard the news? This David Garrett recording is simply electrifying! Get this one for your teenagers and old folks, babies and baby boomers .All ages love this violin virtuoso. GET ON BOARD! .Buy it for yourself, too . . . and then kick back and ENJOY the excitement of this "maestro" of the violin. I bought THREE . . .one for me, one for my sister, and one for my sister's boyfriend. We are all thrilled with David, and can't wait to listen to his other CD's. We also hope to see him live on his American tour.
