This series continues to grab on and not let go. The only thing wrong with the series so far is the lack of commentaries. There are only two for the whole season, but I did enjoy the documentary about the whole "Who shot J.R." mania. Looking forward to Season 4.
I am a huge Dallas fan and was thrilled when the series came out on DVD. I watched Seasons 1 and 2 with barely a break to watch anything else and I am completely enjoying my nostalgia trip back to the 1980s. Season 3 is the season where Dallas became a national and international cultural phenomenon, since it contains the most-watched cliffhanger episode in history "Who Shot JR." Season 3 does not disappoint - it's all there and production values are high on this set. If you love the Ewing family, the Barnes-Ewing feud, big hair, disco-era fashion, family conflicts over good and evil...Dallas is for you. If you loved it the first time as I did, you'll enjoy your second viewing even more. The characters are well drawn, the acting is superb and everyone in the ensemble has wonderful chemistry. It is easy to see why Dallas was the granddaddy of prime time soaps and why today, on DVD, it holds up today. Kudos to Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and the rest of a stellar cast for creating a pop culture phenomenon that holds up for viewing entertrainment more than 25 years later. Kudos also to David Jacobs and Michael Filerman for starting it all... I know I'll be purchasing every season as soon as it's released! And now, I'm off to watch another episode!
