Breaking out of the session-guys mold that found them backing up the likes of Doyle Lawson and Ricky Skaggs, among others, bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent debut here with an album that should please the purists. No punches are pulled on DAILEY & VINCENT, as every bluegrass tradition is expertly nailed: spot-on high harmonies; songs about the mountains, being poor, and loving Jesus; and instrumental chops that put the shredders to shame. This is bee-yoo-ti-ful stuff and should earn some extra points with the alt-country crowd thanks to the presence of an effecting cover of Gillian Welch`s "By The Mark."
