Factual Film This will update minds about war and prisoners treatment World War 2 by Germany. This is very intense on scenes. War is a Dirty Business. Consider 9/11 and Pearl Harbor attacks. Personal, I have seen this 1969 in US Army Basic Training. I observed expectations during War in Viet Nam. I was prepared for that fight. After these past years, I was looking to review as US is back at war. This is an enlightening film. True is a Fact. Hard to believe. Only different is French Verbal language. Subtitles are in English.. BUT it is a distraction to watch the film and subtitles. It is worth it to watch a second time. REVIEW!!!

  • The Last Emperor-Criterion Collection

I received my copy of The Last Emperor in a very timely fashion. The movie, itself, is a very interesting review of pre-Maoist China set IN Maoist China. All of the actors did an excellent job and, of course, the scenery was beautiful. I would recommend this movie to anyone with an interest in China and/or history.

  • BEst quality DVD version of The Rock

    Dec 29, 2011

    dko3tgk  from SF, CA, Rating:5.0

The Rock. One of my favorite action movies. Humor, military action, Sean Connery in his first major comeback role. San Fancisco vistas as the backdrop. If you want the highest resolution DVD version of this film, this is it. Its recored at a higher bitrate than the regular DVD meaning sharper picture. But is still faithful to the movie version. Many AV geeks will say that blu-ray over sharpens, over saturates colors, and changes the film from the movie version to show off the capabilities of blue ray, but it also changes what the director intended for the movie version. With a high quality upconverting DVD player from Oppo, and a decent home theatre setup, this DVD holds its own against any bluray and still remains faithful to the Director's original movie version.

    • Please tell us about the quality of the product. Criterion has the Director involved withthe remastering of their DVD's
