I purchased the book to jump start my diet. The recipes are nice, however it does not have any menu suggestions with calorie groupings. It is simply a cookbook with their philosophy about dieting. The recipes are grouped bye Breakfast, Mains and Sweets. I think this may help me get started, but sitting down grouping the recipes and make shopping list will not be on my list of priorities.
I found the book extremely helpful and informative. I have recommended it to my friends and family. It contains great tasting recipes that will not derail you from a healthy eating life style. The most important factor is that all the recipes use healthy products - no artificial ingredients go into any of their foods!
I'm glad I got the cookbook. I love the tv show and can't right the recipes down as they do it on the show due to editing. My favorite is the portabello mushroom with the fried egg, spinach, and great white sauce. Yummo!
....... the front cover of this book can honestly say "Skinny Meals you can make in minutes" because almost all of the recipes are at least 15-20 ingredients long with many steps in order to make this food. It would take 20 minutes just to gather up all of the equiptment and food items needed to even start to prepare the meal. Speaking of equiptment, this book suggest that you have everything from a blender to a food processor. What a disappointing purchase. And some of the ingredients are not things that one would just happen to have in their pantry, ie Pine nuts. What a waste to me for believing the front cover of this book.My book did not come wrapped in plastic so I can not even return it according to Overstock.com's return policy on books,( must be wrapped in the original plastic wrap).Note to all, if you have the chance to look at this book at a bookstore before ordering it, less expensive at overstock, I strongly suggest that you do. Who knows? Maybe some of you won't dislike it as much as I do.
