    A John Candy goody!

    Aug 26, 2014

    paulspatty  from Ocala, FL, Rating:5.0

Trying to find something for a nephew that he doesn't have and I thought of this movie. Sure hope he likes it. I was trying to figure out how to open the package to watch it myself before sending it off to him. I'm a John Candy fan, hope he will be too.

Great fun for adults and older teens (language, language!) - imagine a road movie with funny alien and you'll have the idea. This is not the film for you if you are a devout Christian and/or can't take religious jokes. Most of it was filmed in New Mexico, particularly in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Simon Pegg & Nick Frost play ComicCon attendees on a trip to America & it's all fun & games when they meet an escaping alien named Paul. Paul is entirely computer generated but you forget this, since it's so well done. Sci-Fi aficionados will have a great time with this as it references many other films.

Love Tyler Perry. He never disappoints. Lots and lots of laughter. Would definitely recommend.

  • Six Degrees Of Separation

    Sep 24, 2014

seymourd  from Carlsbad, New Mexico, Rating:5.0

Oh this is just a great movie. Will Smith is fantastic. A street kid, wanting to fit in with the snooty snoots, learns from another street kid who has learned how to "take" from the snoots. However all Will wants is to be with them, talk and socialize. He does not mean harm or want their money. All he wants is to be their friend. This really is a must see. The "six degrees of separation" is how little the poor have between the rich. This has a sad but but still joyful ending. No disappointment here. Twice in the movie watch for "You slapped the hand of God?"

  • The best of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello

    Dec 5, 2014

pamdan  from Powhatan, Va. (about 25 miles from Richmond, Va., Rating:5.0

Love it , Love it grew up with the comedy team. Never get tired of them. Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein is our favorite . I play it mostly every Halloween for our grandchildren. Just feels so right - brings back memories of a wonderful bygone era that will never never be replaced unfortunately. Watch them anytime before the garbage on TV now a days - don't watch any shows don't like the actors not even adequate at best!!
