Description:
THE CODE OF THE SAMURAI is a four-hundred-year-old explication of the rules and expectations embodied in Bushido, the Japanese way of the warrior. Bushido has played a major role in shaping the behavior of modern Japanese government, corporations, society, and individuals, as well as in shaping the modern martial arts within Japan and internationally. The Japanese original of this book has been one of the primary sources on the tenets of Bushido, a way of thought that remains fascinating to the modern world, East and West.

Customer Reviews
This is a very good book. I needed this book as a requirement for an eskrima class and it's filled with with all types of useful information on how a warrior/samurai is supposed to live and act. It's an English translation which is very easy to read and understand. There are over 40 topics that are related by the author and even though the book was originally written in the middle 1600s, the concepts apply to the present day as well. I always check Overstock.com before buying anywhere else and I'm always glad I did. This will always be one of my favorite online places to shop. I highly recommend this book to others who are curious about samurai life and character.
