  In a day after renting this gem, I purchased my copy; so many movies of today cannot come close to this masterpiece! The Matrix, Blade Runner, Star Wars have all copied what Metropolis started. This is NO WAY this masterpiece will ever leave my side! A pure awesome, wonderful, gem!

  Fascinating movie of the German Silent Movie era,(1927). Suitable footnotes , in English plus choice of audio commentary. Added music is very much in line with the action. As an insight into what many people envisioned the future, it is unsurpassed. I would guess that Charlie Chaplin viewed this film and used some of the ideas in his portrait of the Dictator many years later. Something for everyone, especially sci-fi lovers and dreamers of futuristic cities.

  I,m extremely pleased with my purchase of the Deana Durbin Sweetheart Series DVD. My daughter and I enjoy watching the old movies and this DVD has 5 quality movies that are safe for the whole family. You must like musicals though!

  IF YOU ARE A SCI FI OR CLASSIC MOVIE FAN YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS MOVIE! THE FX, CAMERA DIRECTION & LIGHTING IS SUPERB. THE RESTORATION IS EXCELLENT. A CLASSIC STORY THAT HAS BEEN USED IN HUNDREDS OF MOVIE & TV STORIES SINCE.

  after many years of viewing substandard VHS ands DVD copies with inappropriate soundtracks and jumpy, washed out footage, this edition of Fritz Lang's silent masterpiece is at long last getting the respect it truly deserves. it is breathtaking to see it so lovingly restored.
