Acclaimed Hong Kong New Wave director Wong Kar-Wai presents a kinetic, offbeat look at his city in these two stories. The first concerns a young woman (Brigitte Lin) who has been double-crossed in a heroin deal and her budding romance with a lovelorn cop (Takeshi Kaneshiro). The second deals with another officer (Tony Leung) whose girlfriend has left him and the young waitress (Faye Wong) who tries to help him without his knowledge.
The Buena Vista video and laserdisc versions present this Rolling Thunder release with an exclusive on-camera introduction by Quentin Tarantino before the film.

Loved it!
I loved this movie. It had plenty of action and some quirky romance. The stories (there are two, intertwined) are original and it's really beautifully shot. I can see why Quentin Tarentino admires Wong Kar Wai's work. Overstock should make a note of it somewhere, that it's a foreign language film (Chinese) that's subtitled in English, simply to make sure that buyers don't misunderstand and buy a subtitled movie if they don't like reading subtitles. That said, I personally don't know too many people who would find it that much of a chore to read the subtitles on a movie that's well worth it.

if you don't mind subtitles...
i thought this movie was great... i think the cover tells you that it has english subtitles. i love to read to begin with so i didn't think that it was a big deal. i have to say it's one of wong kar wai's best movies!!

Didn't know the movie was in Chinese(english subtitles). So I never completely watched the entire movie. I would not have purchased this dvd if it was written in large letters that the movie was not in English.
