Best CD I 've Heard IN Years
from Hartford, CT,  Dec 11, 2007

I am 51 years old, my coworker is 39, my niece is 19, my other niece is 15..we all rock to this. Every single cut could be released on its' own. From the lyrics, to her rangeless voice, to the beat, melody, music...I could go on. She should be newcomer/breakout artist of 2007. Listen to this CD, and your troubles become manageable. Loved it. The Essence of Groove
 from Seattle,  Jul 28, 2007

I discovered this cd while shopping for other music on Overstock. I could not find hardly anything resembling a bio online. My gamble (not much considering Overstock's sale price) paid off. Chrisette Michelle wails soul and jazz efficiently. The cover of the cd is deceiving because she seems too young to have such a giant voice. Unlike many singers who sing around the musicians, she delivers her tones integrated fully with the guitars, violins and piano. This harkens to a time when musicians and singers recorded at the same time in the same studio. The guitar and organ solos on This Is How Feels are more rock than soul. Blend Janis Joplin and Natalie Cole for an image of this sound.
