I bought this movie back in 2009 and it is one that I think I made a good choice to use the money on. My loves the movie and what is best is that the movie has tons of episodes which is great for him. He in fact knows just about all the lines in each episode. This is one movie I recommend parents to get if they have a hard time getting their children to sit long enough for a movie.

I will never buy a kids movie based on the cover again! How could you go wrong with such a cute little puppy peeking out of Santa's backpack right? Well, what a terrible movie! My daughter cried on and off the entire movie, and my son kept talking about ways he wanted to hurt the mean people in the movie - that's the Christmas Spirit Disney! Here are some highlights: Santa gets hit by a car, suffers from amnesia, and at the end is in critical condition in the hospital and they tell the little girl he probably won't make it. Then the wicked woman who runs the orphanage yells and screams at little girls, does not allow them to sing, have toys, or celebrate Christmas, and punishes them by putting them in the cold dark basement overnight. I have to say the part that really crossed the line was the cute little "paws" losing his "life force" and turning into a pretty scary looking stuffed stuffed dog that gets thrown into an incinerator by the wicked woman. There are flames lapping all around the dog. The little girl crawls into the incinerator, onto the conveyor belt, to rescue the dog from the flames that are lapping at his face. Due to the subject matter, and kids not being able to understand that "it's just a movie," I would say kids need to be at least first graders to watch this. Disney, you really dropped the ball with this Christmas Flick!

I purchased this for my 4 year old grandson, based on the previews that I had seen elsewhere. The "previews" were quite funny, and looked like something that would be interesting for him. However, the movie lost it's interest for both of us after only a couple of minutes. Possibly more suited for elementary school aged children.

My son is 2 and has a plethora of Sesame Street DVDs and this is the one he's shown the least interest in. That is, at least for now. Not enough silliness or singing and dancing. Lots of instructional cooking scenes, so maybe for a child that understands cooking more.

My husband and i liked the movie, the effects were very realistic. Although the movie scared my 3 year old son for whom i bought the movie for. So be careful you might want to watch it before you show this movie to little ones.

This movie is rated PG. It should be rated at least PG-13. There is inappropriate language all throughout the movie by adults and young children. I don't recommend purchasing it. The movie is not very good.

Coraline is an amazing movie for kids, ages 8+. Between ages eight and ten I would watch with parents, though, as the child may have some questions afterward. It is DEFINITELY good though. It's all about being careful what you wish for and follows Coraline as she gets the world she wished for, only to find out it's not as good as it seems. There is minor nudity, but it is an old woman recreating the fine art piece 'the birth of venus' so it shouldn't be too bad.
