However, just as the story is about to end, little "a" attempts to goad the other letters into yet another race. Although the illustrations showcase lowercase letters, readers will also be introduced to the uppercase, as the text uses them and the endpapers features both the upper- and lowercase alphabet. Colorful illustrations featuring tropical greens, bold oranges, and bright pinks accompany the lively text.
