Easy reading and very informative. My dog was dragging me down the street. After reading this book, I learned to walk with a different attitude. Now I walk as the pack leader with success the very first try. Cesar believes we treat our dogs as furry people. We have to understand that they are dogs with their own pyschology. They pick up on negative and positive energies. Yelling or screaming at our dog only makes them percieve us as unstable with negative energy, which forces them to take over the pack leader roll, resulting in negative doggie behavior. Cesar say the single most important thing we can do is to simply walk (correctly) with our dog to establish who the pack leader is.

This was an unexpected wealth of information. Not only did Cesar Millan reveal his humbling life, but enlightened the reader with the hows, whys and buts behind all his reasoning and experiences relative to person-dog relationships, ownership, connecting with your dog and the importance of a strong pack leader bond with your pet. His book is written in a very easy to understand fashion and is highly recommended for all dog owners. Waiting for his next!

One of the best dog book I have read. Very informative and helpful in teaching you the importance of being a pack leader for your dogs. I have watched his show and have used his techniques and my pets respond well. I think he is brilliant.

I bought this for my husband for christimas as he is a HUGE Dog Whisperer fan. He loves it!

Purchased as a gift for my brother. After gleening through the book, I believe he will find a lot of helpful information in the book to assist him training his yellow lab.

Caesar Millan is a dog genius, charming, entertaining and a fine teacher and his book delivers the essence of his skills. Love it and thoroughly enjoy the book.

Cesar has some great ideas-- I just wish he would spend more time in the book teaching them. He spends a lot of time recounting his childhood and his journey to America. He repeatedly uses the phrases "calm assertive" and "calm submissive", but doesn't spend a whole lot of time teaching how we can be calm assertive and we can get our dogs to be calm submissive. He states several times that once your dog is calm assertive, then... but doesn't teach HOW to get the dog into that state. The book is geared toward training ourselves to think differently. I did find that helpful.

we feel like we have a different dog. we didn't realize how we were hurting him by not letting him be a dog & give him guidelines. We are more committed to exercise, discipline, affection now that we know WHY it's important. This book is any easy read, easy to understand & easy to put into practice. A must have for all dog owners.

Interesting, but repetitious. A personal story, not just a "how to" book. If I only had 8 hours a day to exercise my dog ... we both would be better pack members.
