This book is very informative if......................you are in the very beginning stage of looking for a Coon Cat. We obtained one from a rescue team and he is about 8 months old. We were looking for information regarding on going care, likes dislikes, aging process. This book offers none of that.

I was amazed at this informational book...Even bought one for my daughter and son-in-law. Cats do think and it is fun to see what they might be running around in their little heads.

I bought the book because I had never owned a cat before, so didn't know what to expect in terms of behaviors, mannerisms, etc. This book was a great overview in helping know what to expect, what was normal, what was not etc. Great book for someone looking to learn more about their cats and their quirks

Very high quality, although this makes it not as light as some might hope, and isn't the best fit for a small wrist..

I bought these for a coworker and she thought they were hilarious. They are not too big, but I didn't think they were too small either. Good for a laugh and ALWAYS start conversation.

I had heard about Oscar and wondered how they could write an entire book on him! This book is especially wonderful in helping you understand and empathize with caretakers of ailing family members and/or friends. I would especially recommend the book as a gift to those who have family members or friends with alzheimers as it seems to provide a wonderful understanding of what to expect, along with some consolation and reassurance that others are experiencing the same emotions as they are taking care of loved ones who are "unlearning" life during this awful disease. I am not a caretaker nor do I know anyone who has alzheimers. However, I was fully engaged in the book which completely engrosses you in the lives of various families and how they and their loved ones were able to better cope with death and dying through the loving companionship of Oscar.

This was one of the best books I have read all year! I couldn't put it down and read it all in one day. I loved how Gwen and Homer interacted and how he is just a true survivor. If you love cats, or animals in general, this is a must read!

This book is a must have for any pet owner. Ideally, you should have this book BEFORE you bring your new pet home. All good breeders should be sending this book home with puppies/kittens. The information in this book may frighten you but it will definitely get you to challenge your veterinarian.

I have read several books on cat behavior and cat care and found this book very insightful, with lots of new information. It gave me several great ideas to try to help my four cats live harmoniously. I volunteer at an animal shelter and bought the book for several of the employees and other volunteers. It is a great resource to use when we council adopters with multi-cat households.
If you would like to take your cat on walks, you'll need a cat harness, as cats can quickly learn to escape standard leashes. A properly fitted cat harness is safe and comfortable for your cat and, at the same time, gives you more control of his movements. Here are some helpful tips on fitting a cat harness on your cat and some pointers on training a cat to go on walks.
A cat condo is a piece of furniture designed especially for your cat. These tall, sturdy structures (sometimes called cat trees) offer cats a place to play, scratch, perch, or sleep. While some cat owners may not feel like a cat condo is a necessary purchase, others know that some cats are much happier when they have their own space to stake out and claim -- space that will prevent the cat from damaging household furniture. If you're not sure whether to buy one, watch for these cat behaviors to see if your cat could use a cat condo.
Sometimes called cat towers, cat trees are built to give your cat a place to scratch, rest, play, and perch. Cats are protective of their territory, and giving them a place of their own that's above everything else makes them happy. A cat tree can also keep them from scratching up or taking over your furniture. Here's how to choose the best cat tower for your kitty.
You'll need plenty of cat supplies to keep a new kitty happy. Your cat will need a place to scratch, sleep, and play, and cat furniture is the perfect solution for all of these things. With plenty of options available, it may be hard to know which cat furniture is best for your furry friend. These tips can help you shop for the best cat furniture for your new pet.
If your cat needs a place to relax and play, a cat tree is the perfect choice. Cats love to climb up to high places; it makes them feel safe, comfortable, and in charge of their surroundings. With a cat tree, you can give your kitty a place to lounge, climb, scratch, and hide. If you have a cat tree or are looking to purchase one but don't know where to put in your home, keep reading to get some good ideas. If you have multiple cats, you may want to put cat trees in more than one of these spots.
When you need to put your cat in a cat cage, you want to make sure she's as comfortable as possible in there. Pet cages can be cold, hard, and lonely for kitties, but with the right preparations, cat carriers can actually become cozy. Whether you're taking her to the vet in a kennel, flying with her on an airplane, or keeping her sequestered while allergic guests are in the house, helping your cat feel comfortable will make things easier for both of you.
Your kitty deserves the best, and treating her right includes choosing the best cat supplies. If you train your cat to use a litter box from the time he's a kitten, it is less likely that your cat will have accidents later on. However, how do you train an adult cat to use a litter box if he's never used one before? Also, what do you do if your litter-box trained cat suddenly begins to have accidents in other parts of your home? Here are some pointers on how to train a kitten or retrain your adult cat to use a litter box as well as a few suggestions for cat supplies that will help you address the possible underlying causes of inappropriate elimination.
Cats sleep twice as much as humans, and kittens sleep even more. Luckily, cat beds are a great option for cat owners who want to help their kitty get the best rest possible. Like humans, cats need plenty of rest, and disrupted or lack of sleep can be detrimental to your cat's health. Finding the right place to put those pet beds is important. It can be hard to get a cat to curl up in her new kitty bed, but these tips can help you find just the right place for your kitty to sleep.
Cats love having their own special place to sleep, play, and observe the comings and goings of the people around them. If that place is a cat tree with a high perch, a cozy hole, and a toy or two, so much the better. The distinctive design of cat furniture can make it somewhat difficult to clean. Still, it is important to keep your cat happy and healthy by keeping his cat supplies as clean as possible.
Stories of cat's eye gemstones hearken back to antiquity. The gem intrigues and entrances with its casual wink. Sometimes confused with other stones, true cat's eye is fairly rare. Cat's eye is chatoyant, possessing an iridescence that changes the way the stone appears as the viewer's perspective shifts. Peices of cat's eye jewelry, such as cat's eye rings, bracelets and necklaces are beautiful additions to any outfit.

You've been planning your vacation all year, but your cat may not be as excited as you are to have you away from home. Although many people believe cats prefer to be on their own, kitties get lonely and can become anxious when their surroundings change. As a responsible pet owner, you will want to make sure your kitty is safely and comfortably cared for while you're on vacation. The following tips can help you ease the stress on you and your feline friend when you're away and give great ideas for cat supplies to keep your cat comfortable.
Cats have a natural urge to scratch. It helps them stretch and relax while simultaneously shedding old claw sheaths and sharpening new claws. If you don't buy your cat a scratching post, chances are that he'll turn to your furniture or carpet to satisfy his urge to scratch. Buying a scratching post your cat is sure to use isn't a simple task, however. Every cat prefers something different, so finding the right post for your pet is important. Here are some of the factors that go into choosing the right one.
When the weather warms up, everyone wants to be outside, especially your pets. Even the most timid of house cats could benefit from a little fresh air from time to time. So whether you have a cat, dog, rabbit, turtle, or parrot, here are a few tips to help them have a little fun in the great outdoors.
The world of fashion is branching out to our furry friends. Whether your pet is sporting a rhinestone collar, a pair of booties, or a dapper sweater, it's fun to see your animal all dressed up. There are some important aspects to consider if you're thinking of buying pet apparel for your cat or dog. These tips will help you choose the best clothes for your pooch or pussy cat.
Did you know that cats sleep an average of 16 hours a day and dogs are close behind! This makes choosing the right pet bed for your furry friend extremely important. With all those hours of cat (or dog) naps, you'll want them to be as comfortable as possible. Different animals have different needs, and no pet bed is a one-size-fits-all design. Here is how to find the right one for Fluffy or Fido.
When you take your pets on short trips to the vet or on long vacations, a pet carrier provides a familiar spot for your dog or cat to rest and a safe way to get from one place to another. A comfortable dog carrier is also beneficial for use at home. Pet carriers and strollers come in many sizes, but they should all offer one basic thing: protection for your beloved pet.
