Put this on your MUST read list! I originally purchased this book at a used book sale is Turkey. I read it twice while there and had to leave it when I moved back to the USA. I purchased it again because it was such a terrific read. Living abroad as an expat, this book gave me great insight into Middle Eastern life. The story and its historical references are eye openers. Anyone wanting an insight into the Middle Eastern mentality, especially Afghanistan, HAS to read this book. The characters are timeless. Completely engrossing.
