This film was really hilarious. It really appeals to an audience because the plot works on serendipity-- things that happen to one person affect the rest and cause for some strange happenings. Brad Pitt's character is really amusing-- stereotyped dumb jock trying to come up with a clever plan. The movie follows several characters as their lives collide in different ways, and wind up with a dead guy.

Laughter & Bemusement

UKFeline from Tennessee, Jun 15, 2009

I don¿t know how much funnier it can get! While this is not a ¿Three Stooges¿ or ¿Jeff Dunham¿ hilarity flick, you have to give props to some of Hollywood¿s leading men who, at least among fans, are virtually gods in their own right (namely George Clooney & Brad Pitt, of course), who take on characters that can be described as nothing short of idiots. In many ways, Burn After Reading reminds me of Noises Off where the cast & the plot are so intertwined that it appears that not only is the audience scrambling to keep up with who¿s who and what¿s what, but the actors are doing the same! The Coens have taken a fairly common spy & espionage theory and turned it into a comedy! Who would ever suspect that such antics would erupt over the memoirs of an alcoholic, form CIA agent? They¿re all paranoid and of course they¿re all selfish, but in the end, don¿t they all get their just ends by death or injury or arrest? Well¿maybe not quite all, Linda may have gotten the best deal since she got the CIA to pay for her plastic surgery for her ¿silent cooperation¿!
