I recommend this Bible to a person who has perfect eye-sight, due to the tiny print-size! Of course, I like the New King James Version. Oh, this Bible is also very simplistic, and I didn't really note beforehand that it was not standard size. However, the Bible is a perfect fit because I bought it for a young person who had never read bible before.

I know I have said it before but I will say it again, Jane Kirkpatrick is one of my favorite writers! She finds historical women figures that I have never heard of and their stories are so interesting! I find it incredible the way she weaves the historical facts with fiction to the point that every novel seems like a detailed true account of the person’s life. A Daughter’s Walk is about a young woman, Clara Etsby and her mother, Helga who in 1896, walked 3,500 miles from Spokane Washington to New York City. They did so in an effort to save their family farm that was about to be foreclosed and earn $10,000; quite a tidy sum back then. Helga’s accepted the challenge from a wealthy group of sponsors. The purpose was to promote the “new reform” dress which was shorter, showing the ankles and worn without corsets. The new fashion was publicized for busy, active women. Two women walking cross country alone was shocking enough in the Victorian Era, but in such risqué clothing too?! ...

Even though this book has been out in Hard Cover and paper back now since about 2011 I have been dying to read it so I was so glad to find it in stock. The price for the paper back was a bit on the high side but it is a full size book with nice size lettering. The overall story is great and Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author so I am glad I was able to find this book finally. I would say it was worth the money in the end and the shipping was unbelievable. I got it within 2 days

  • Still one of the best

Over the years I have purchased many, many copies of this book so I am copying the review here that I left for the paperback version last time. This is one of the most amazing children's books. If you introduce it when the child is ready, it will be a favorite for years, long after you expect they outgrow it. The story is simple but the artwork so clever that children (and parents) find it hard to resist and return time after time to look at it both rightside up and upside down. Of course with Roundtrip you you never know which is the "right" way! I gift this book to all children in my circle and the response is always amazement.
