I recommend this book to everyone. I go to a Pia Mellody trained therapist. I have attended several boundary workshops so I found this boundary book for myself and my family. This book is truly a life and money saver. It helps the reader understand when to say "yes" and when to say "no". Our "yes" and ¡°no¡± should come from the heart with no resentment or guilt attached. It helps the reader to understand that when we interfere with the "w of sowing and reaping" we hinder our loved ones growth. Setting boundaries with loved ones is very difficult and this book helps tremendously..t

Amazing how much information is stuffed in this book. Gets right to the heart of ADHD. I was struggling to understand my recent diagnosis, and this book shed tremendous light not only on the "disorder", but also on the positive sides of ADD. This is a MUST read for anyone trying to better understand ADHD.

I have not finished the book yet but am reading it now. As is usual with Jodi Picoult books I find it to be very good. I have read each & every book she has written & have enjoyed each on greatly. I will recommed her book to everyone. She is a tremendous writer. I purchase almost every book I read (except the ones I trade with other people) from Overstock because I am in my 70's now & going into a bookstore overwhelms me. I love Overstock.

This is tough because I love the author, I love the teaching, but listening to these CDs was difficult at best. It is read word for word from the book. There is no humor thrown in, nothing to make it easier to listen and pay attention. I have purchased other CDs by this author and have enjoyed them because he has a good sense of humor, but they are not read directly from a book. But if you can get through it, the message is invaluable and his insight is tremendous. Just don't expect to be entertained.

Enjoyed the books tremendously; looked for them after the TV series "Blood Ties" debuted. Was a little disappointed that the storyline came to a quick end; thought there was plenty of room for further adventures. Still, overall would recommend the books as they fill in a lot of Henry's background.

I grew up learning that the Dust Bowl was a difficult time for our country. Little did I realize just how much suffering and sacrifice the people in the region experienced. This book relates the true stories of the tremendous struggles of individuals and families that lived and died during this time. What true tenacity and grit these people had. The book educates the reader as to the hows and whys the Dust Bowl occurred. The author explains how the destruction of land, weather conditions and economic failure lead to this horrific time in the 1930's. If you read it, you will undoubtedly come away with a new understanding of the time and a great appreciation for those people. It's well written and a great book to own.

I bought this book as a last resort for my 7yo struggling reader. We had tried a few other well known phonics programs with no success. I was about to give up on the phonics approach to teaching reading, when I read about The Ordinary Parent's Guide to Reading. Since using this book, I have seen a tremendous improvement in my child's reading, and moreover, her self esteem. She is decoding well, and has improved her fluency. I am also using this book with my four year old child. She has learned almost all the letters and sounds, and will be reading 2-3 letter words soon. I love that the book is scripted, and shows me how to approach teaching my children to read. This is a must read for anyone wanting to teach reading to their child, whether a beginning reader, a struggling reader, or an advancing reader.

I very much enjoyed this book. It is an awesome learning tool and reference. It teaches both left-handers and right-handers. I especially like the pictures of the designs in stitched characters. It helps tremendously to see the design in stitches. What a great teaching method, as I am one who sometimes needs to see what I am reading. I would recommend this book to both the novice and the experienced. Thank you Donna!

This is an absolute must read book for anyone who is in a relationship with, or is looking at being in a relationship with a firefighter! Dr Kirschman does a tremendous job explaining what we as firefighters think, and why we do what we do. She explains it in terms almost anyone could understand.Truelty a must see for any spouse that cannot understand empty chairs at the dinner table, missed practices and concerts for the kids and hundreds of other little things that drive you crazy about your firefighter.

Not sure it would be useful for the professional chef, as I am not one. But as a home cook this book has helped tremendously. I have used it to make my own stock and the section about salt alone is worth the cost.

Only 1/3 of the way through at this point, and already I can see the tremendous, even life-changing value of aspects of this book. It's more about how you look at your life and how money is a part of that than anything else... at least so far. I recommend it.

I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who knows or works with someone on the autism spectrum. I have a four year old son with autism and this book has given me an insight into his world. Dr. Grandin does a wonderful job describing what it is like to have autism. I have a much better understanding of my son and had about a dozen "ah-ha" moments just in the first chapter. My relationship with my son has improved tremendously after reading this book.

This is a book that can be read as a devotional or simply to pass the time. A.W. Tozer was a man deeply seated in the word of God and had a tremendous love for people and their spiritual condition. He brings out things that were true in his time and are applicabe foe today as well. The spiritual condition of the church today. Get this book, Plug in to Jesus, learn of his great love and see where your heart is...

This is one of the best "textbooks" that I have ever read and will continue to do so. It informs you that all of the stuff that you learned in Sunday school and elsewhere should have been taught in comparison to other tenets/ethics. Of course we were kids then and wouldn't have been the wiser. The text is not a fast read for me but tremendously informative intellectually and morally. I have given the title to a dear friend who was intrigued when we talked about it.
