This book is a great book to really stack up on biblical knowledge. We are all commended to learn, and with this learning, share. There really isnt anything more important in the world, than God. You will most definitely learn very much through the pages of this book. Spanning from biblical and messianic prophesies to battling evolution, atheism and mormonism.

I first started to study this volume in the early 1970¿s. As an occult scholar with two accredited graduate degrees focused upon esoteric symbolism, this volume has become my bible of consciousness. It is said the information was received in 1923 from an entity, who in a previous lifetime, was a world famous philosopher. It is a metaphor of creation and cosmic evolution that gives definition to the deepest esoteric secrets of astrology, numerology, Kabala, Tarot and the I-Ching. At the same time it has foreshadowed some of the most recent developments of thinking in quantum physics and the cosmology of astrophysics. Certainly the vocabulary is different, and the teaching presented in metaphor. However, one can find innumerable parallels to modern cosmology. I have watched the science channel and other documentaries about current cosmological theory. One just has to say, ¿Looks like they finally got that one¿. That is because the realization was clearly put forth in this volume so long ago. The language of this book is truly esoteric, and a new student to the study of the more involved aspects of metaphysical thinking may find it quite stupefying at first. I read portions it hundreds of times before becoming able to grasp the message. It is the type of great writing that reveals more, and takes you higher into the spheres with each contemplation and additional reading.

WOW! The book was beyond incredible. I am excited for the world to read this... THE BRAVEHEARTED GOSPEL MUST BE HEARD! When I finished the last paragraph of The Bravehearted Gospel the only word I could utter was ¿whoa.¿ But whoa as in: ¿this is one of THE most phenomenal books I have read¿ probably Eric Ludy¿s best work to date¿ incredibly piercing but desperately needed.¿ We need Truth. We need boldness. We need a backbone. What happened to the gospel of the early church that was bold and courageous? Men and women who were willing to stand in the face of politics, in the face of the religious culture, in the face of hungry lions, and declare with firmness and unwavering devotion that Truth is not only invariable but is Jesus! This book is extreme. Extremely well written. Extremely well communicated. Extremely Biblically accurate. Extremely pointed while being extremely humble. Extremely light-hearted while being extremely serious. Extremely needed in this not-so-extreme world. I felt as if I were reading a modern day John the Baptist, who was a voice crying out in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord, making His crooked paths straight. But even more than a plea to wayward leaders to find the Truth, The Bravehearted Gospel causes a stir and a burning desire within one¿s bosom to square the shoulders, to throw off everything and anything that hinders, and to lose one¿s self in the pursuit of Truth, the living Word, the Person of Jesus. It is the call of Christ, the essence of the Gospel. As I have been reading the book I have told several people a basic synopsis of The Bravehearted Gospel and I could see a hunger in their eyes and sensed a desire rise in desperation of Truth and for someone who is willing to stand for it. We need the essence of Bravehearted Gospel infused within our lives! This, hands down, is one of the best books I have read in a long time (and being in seminary we have to read a LOT of books). The last several months God has been revealing that I need a backbone. I need to stand for Truth and what is right. I need to rescue the widow, the orphan, the destitute. I need and deeply hunger to be a man full of the Bravehearted Gospel. I have only just begun the adventure, and the rest of the world vehemently needs to hear the call as well.

As a huge fan of Bryan Davis' Dragons in Our Midst/Oracles of Fire series and the Echoes from the Edge trilogy (I spend more time on his forum then on Facebook), I eagerly anticipated the release of Starlighter. One aspect of the story that will immediately surprise readers of DioM is the presence of inherently evil dragons. But instead of traditional treasure-hording, maiden-devouring beasts, the dragons of Starlight enslave humans to mine extane, a gas necessary for dragons to breath. Meanwhile, on another planet, stories of the "Lost Ones" who were stolen by dragons and taken to another planet are laughed at as myths, but the young swordsman Jason Masters is forced to make a difficult decision when he discovers the legends are true. Although the twin settings of this book are different from the mixed modern realistic of Davis' prior series, I found both worlds delightfully fresh and exciting. The mixture of modern and medieval technology in Jason's world raises questions for the next book in the series, and the characters are well-written and lovable.

This book shines light on a neglected problem in our day- the trafficking and bondage of women in many parts of the world. Nicolas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn travel throughout Asia and Africa to meet with women who have been caught in the modern slave trade in women and discuss their ordeals, From child trafficking and prostitution to honor killings and maternal mortality, the authors show that women in parts of the developing world are still treated as disposable. Instead of being depressing, however, the book is uplifting and inspiring- they tell stories of women who have escaped their captors and are making a difference for others. Amazing book!

Every body was having positive hopes about the new millennium. Specially with the advances of science technology people expected world would be revolutionized. In real sense millennium is a revolution. But humanity faced its greatest crisis in terms of natural disasters like tsunami as well as man made disasters like in September 11th in the Millennium. In the light of this His Holiness Dalai Lamas "Ethics for the new Millennium" provides an insight on how to face challenges faced by humanity through spirituality. How I came to know came to know about the book is a pretty interesting story. While I was traveling in the train, I had a chat with a Russian whom I just met. Knowing I am a buddhist he recommended me the book "Ethics for the New Millennium". I dont think he is a Buddhist but perhaps he is interested in reading. Thanks mate for recommending me a great book. By the way book is not about Buddhism but surely Dalai Lama should have inspired by Buddhist philosophy. According to him, the spirituality and the sense of right and wrong is common to every major religion. What differs from religion to religion is rituals, prayers and the ultimate goal you are seeking. The book is quite rich in content in explaining about the getting inner peace in mind. Further it was very inspiring to read about being happy in this materialistic world.

As a mother of three children, I found this book to be essential reading. Sometimes it is difficult to send my kids out into the world we live in. There are so many negative influences, and our children are bombarded with sexual messages and images. I am so relieved that someone like Shawna Sparrow is going into the schools to give the message of chastity! Our kids need to be encouraged to save sex for marriage. I also found the book helpful in knowing how to address this issue in the home with our pre-teen daughter, and it even helps us with our younger children. Even though they are not yet facing sexual pressure, the book showed me that by making my children feel loved and secure, my husband and I can reduce the risk of them being sexually active when they are older. This book could change your marriage and your family!

When you open the book and begin to read Einstein, you are treated to a vivid picture of life in Germany in the early 1900s when Albert Einstein was a child. Fortunately for us, he left a vast legacy of letters, notes and notebooks detailing his thoughts. The author has used them throughout the book to give insight into the brilliant genius who developed many theories of physics, including the most famous one -- the theory of relativity E=mc2. But expect much more than the story of Einstein the scientist. This biography reveals his tumultuous personal life, his longings, and his love of Switzerland. Did you know he was a citizen of three countries? Moved often, living mainly in Swtizerland and Germany. He lived through the first World War in Europe. He managed to avoid persecution for being Jewish by denying he had any religion. On one application to a university, he wrote "Mosiac" for his religion. The author's style is fairly smooth and makes good reading, but if you are not fascinated by matters scientific or quantum mechanics, it may be tough going through some passages. If you keep going, you will be richly rewarded. The book is one of the most important ever written about the man who defined physics and quantum physics, affecting generations of of scientists, theorists and mathematicians. Well worth reading by anyone who wants to know Einstein, I highly recommend this book.

Frank MacEowen is a self confessed spiritual poet, who in this volume guides us through the mists of time and space in a sacred journey delicately flavored with Celtic heritage. For those that possess a 'Celtic heritage' it is a marvellous and detailed account of ways in which to reconnect with long lost ancestors from a distant world. MacEowen focuses on the Shamanic heritage and practise of his Gaelic ancestors in a credible and realistic manner, he manages to bring an ancient method of faith into a modern context. I recommend this book to those in search of a beautiful, native spiritual path, it is certainly a conclusive and dedicated vision of true and integral soul awakening.

I believe this is a book every preteen girl, teen girl, young woman and their mothers should read! As crazy as it sounds I think it is appropriate for grown women who are caught in the trap of thinking they need a man to be complete and happy. A great deal of damage is done to young girls and their future relationship with their husbands by society’s and parent’s acceptance and even encouragement that being “boy crazy” is normal. There is nothing “normal” about it and I do not believe it is God’s plan for the spiritual and emotional well-being of women of all ages. Paula does an amazing job of addressing this subject, not only from personal experience, but also from the Bible and the heart. This is not a big book but it is so well written that it holds an encyclopedia of wisdom! She beautifully illustrates how the modern day obsession to attract the opposite sex and secure a “relationship”, is not the “freedom” to eventually find the right husband, but is actually Satan’s snare to ruin young lives. Gently and skillfully she shares this preoccupation with boys (or men) is simply another void in one’s life that only God can fill. She reveals the story of her journey from being a boy crazy girl to a young woman who’s first love is God. With scripture and much humor Paula shows that only through trusting God, praying, and studying His Word can a girl finding not only God’s best but also the kind of love and man she truly wants for a lifetime. Her book makes it clear that God wants the best for us too, but in His time and His way. I liked all the scripture references that were used throughout the book. Not once was it ever preachy or condescending. It is written as if two good friends are simply visiting with each other. At the end of each chapter is “Journal Corner” for reflection on scripture and a particular challenge girls would face. A life changing book! I received this book free from Moody Press. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

"The Fantasy Fallacy: Exposing the Deeper Meaning Behind Sexual Thoughts" by Shannon Ethridge was written primarily as a response to the "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy. However, it goes far beyond being a simple response. Ethridge digs deeply into the uncomfortable world of sexual fantasy. A topic that is generally seen as a taboo subject among Christians is covered in great detail and depth in this book. The book includes nine chapters, covering topics such as why do we even need to talk about sexual fantasies and then delving into what some common fantasies are, and five appendices with great resources for individuals or churches. I appreciated that Ethridge was so very real in this book. She talked about her own issues with fantasies. She really took the time to explain common fantasies and helped the reader to explore the deeper meanings behind them. She helps the reader to address their fantasies and channel them in the appropriate, healthy context of marriage. This is a book that is long overdue for our sex-absorbed culture. Christians are not immune to the temptations and the pull of fantasies. It's time for the Church to start confronting some of these elephants in the room, and this book is a great starting place for the discussion. "At times, we may need to look to the God-given gift of mental fantasy to fuel our sexual passions and imaginations in marriage. Other times, we may need to reel in our thoughts to stay out of dangerous territory. Either way, whether we are intentionally opening our minds or trying to guard them, there are great benefits to peeling back the layers of our sexual thoughts to under their deeper meaning. And once we've done so, we're better equipped to help others do the same." (p. xxvi) (I’ve received this complimentary book from Thomas Nelson Publishing House through the Book Sneeze program in exchange for a review. A positive review was not required and the views expressed in my review are strictly my own.)

The book started off slow, but soon began to gain my interest. It's well written in the author's own language with real life humor added throughout. It's a very interesting approach to explaining how the author arrived at his view of the world. His views on why poverty exists are dead on. It's an easy read and informative where modern history is concerned.

I bought this book as a gift for my husband, he had seen it at the bookstore but it was expensive, I was happy to find the same new copy available on overstock for a great price! He loved the book. It does take about a week to receive books as they are shipped differently from the other things on overstock. It was worth the small wait though -- for the savings!

Really enjoyed this publication as it relates to the prophecies of the Virgin Mary. I believe that all the occurrences mentioned in this book are happening now, have been happening for the past 20 years but with different intervals of no events in between. We have experienced fragments of debris or rocks falling from the sky; extreme changes in weather and 5 countries have reported hearing what in Mexico is called "the bells of the Apocalypse." We are experiencing the magnetic field in small "doses" and the sun is definitely sjpwomg changes. I believe all of us should have a chance to read it and form our own opinions but as far as I am concerned, I am really impressed with it. We are all children of the one great GOD, the Almighty and we should have prayer and religion in our lives.

If Dragons in Our Midst was a movie, Eye of the Oracle would be the behind-the-scenes documentary. It goes deeper into the past and seamlessly weaves older threads into the background of the modern world. I recommend reading this book after Dragons in Our Midst because some parts might be considered spoilers.

A whole new twist to the ABCs! A is for Adam by Ken & Mally Ham quite creatively facilitates a parent (or grandparent) helping a child learn the gospel in a way that they can actually comprehend it. I must say, I am quite impressed with how well my six-year-old son grasps and even teaches back to me the truth of why Jesus had to come and die in our place---many thanks to this well-formatted book. Ken and Mally Ham have structured this book to tell the true Gospel as it is initiated in the book of Genesis. Each letter of the alphabet corresponds with a word that is used in a rhyming sentence displayed on a colorful cartoon picture that illustrates the content of the sentence. Additionally, on the "adult's" side of the flip-chart, tent-like book, there is a simple but thorough guide for discussing that specific, important Gospel content with your child. There are even FREE downloadable coloring versions of the artwork from this book for you child's enjoyment! The sections on the discussion side of the book include: - Let's Read (a verbatim copy of the sentence the child is seeing and reading on their picture) - The Starting Point (a concise discussion-starter statement which further introduces the point of this page) - Bible Bits (a bulleted list of short truthful statements for the child to repeat after the adult) - Let's Talk! (a bulleted list of short discussion points and questions to help the child further comprehend) - Always Remember (a brief, truth-filled recap phrase for the child to repeat back) - Visual Vocabulary (a guide for having the child find things in the picture that begin with the letter of the page and identify other specific things from the picture) - Stuff To Do (a section of suggestions of how to further learn/teach about this content in tangible ways including more discussion points as well as craft projects) - Quick Review (a short bulleted list of questions to ask the child to help them further grasp the content) My son actually begs me to read this with him! He loves to sit on his side to look at the main pictures and read the sentences that are on those pictures while I sit on my side of the book and lead him in a discussion about that specific picture. Again, I love to hear the responses he shares in the discussions. So much so, I think I will let you in on a bit of our conversations as we were going through A is for Adam together. Question from "Stuff To Do" section of D is for Dinosaurs page was "What do you do when you feel lonely?" - My son's answer, "Just go on top of the roof and sleep and spend the night until I can find a family." - WHAT?! Where in the WORLD did He get that from?! LOL! He has never been on our roof, nor does he have any way to get there. And, yes, he does have a family...a very close and loving family, I might add. ;) When discussing Satan the serpent on the G is for Ghastly page, my son says, "Sometimes I listen to Satan." - I ask, "What does he say to you?" - He responds, "He tells me that my mom and dad are lying to me, but I enore (ignore) him and I fight him in my heart. And, I call him a 'Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire.'" So, if you have a child in your life or the life of a loved one whom you think would benefit from understanding more about the Gospel, then I highly suggest you get your hands on a copy of A is for Adam! Disclaimer: I received this book for free from New Leaf Publishing Group - Master Books. No other compensation was received. The fact that I received a complimentary product does not guarantee a favorable review.

Not a translation or even a tranliteration, but more of a paraphrase. But in many parts it communicates the meaning of the original languages into very clear modern speech. Check out Matthew 11:28: "Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."
