This book was an easy funny read and I read in a couple of days. It took my mind off of things and that's a good thing.

Great book for tween and teenagers who are interested in African American history. A GIRL CALLED BOY will enable all who read it to come away with a greater understanding of American history. Great book for middle school and high school readers, especially during Black history month. Exceptionally well written.

  • Fun, Motivating Sarcasm At Its Best

    Nov 24, 2014

    Maidendance  from Central MA, Rating:5.0

This is THE best book on writing I've ever read. It's laugh out loud hilarious in parts especially if you appreciate sarcasm. You feel as if you're just hanging out with Stephen, chatting about his life and writing. Course, he doesn't answer you back, if you're one like me to talk out loud to yourself while reading. BUT he does encourage you to contact him when you complete an assignment from the book that he challenges you to. The first half of the book is about his life. He provides the sometimes wavering journey of how certain works came to be from inspiration to celebration. There aren't many books that I don't want to end, but this is one of them. Now, with a lit fire under my rear, I'm ready to write! Thank You Mr. King.

  • Informative and fun!

Smee  from San Diego, CA, Rating:5.0

This book has a good amount of information and plenty of pictures to give you some good ideas, as well as some basic how-to's for a novice. I enjoyed the way that the book was written; a first-hand and personal account from a seasoned pro.

Even though this book has been out in Hard Cover and paper back now since about 2011 I have been dying to read it so I was so glad to find it in stock. The price for the paper back was a bit on the high side but it is a full size book with nice size lettering. The overall story is great and Nicholas Sparks is my favorite author so I am glad I was able to find this book finally. I would say it was worth the money in the end and the shipping was unbelievable. I got it within 2 days
