Flags of Our Fathers was so good that I had trouble putting the book down once I started reading it. In fact, I plan on reading it again because it was so enjoyable. I knew that the battle for Iwo Jima was horrible, but I didn't know how horrific it was until I read this book. The book also describes what the men who participated in the famous flag raising went through after the war.

This book makes you think of so many things on so many different levels. You have a man who is passionate about his work, no matter where it takes him. And he's still alive--a real live amazing hero or humanitarian . . . check out his website directly by Googling Three Cups of Tea. Then you have the other side of Muslim, the one that American media doesn't show us--the one where they are good people who just want to live a decent life and live in peace. It's very eye opening, especially after the last 8 years of having our service men and women over in this region of the world--understanding the desolation and the terrain makes it that much clearer as to why this battle may never cease. And lastly, the biggest point of them all, which I believe applies not only to the rural and remote locations that he's doing his main work in, but applies to us here in America as well: The simple truth that education is the first step to ending terrorism. Who would have known the first step could be that simple?

You will be enthralled from the moment Norman knight, Julian Challon, the Black Dragon, parts the mists of Glen Shane and comes to Glenrogha to claim his lady, Tamlyn MacShane, and the land awarded him by the conquering king, Edward Longshanks. It is the year 1296. Julian, a seasoned warrior, wants nothing more than home and hearth, a wife and strong sons now, after years of warring. In anticipation of these things, he comes fresh from bloody battles, bearing deep painful burdens of personal loss too terrible to share. Expecting to deal with men while taking his new holding awarded him by the Crown, he finds instead that three spirited MacShane sisters hold sway over Glenrogha, strong-willed Tamlyn, the youngest of which, is slated to become his bride. Pagan beauty Tamlyn MacShane is aware of the Black DragonÃ?¢Ã¢â??‰â??¢s coming. Gifted with the mysterious otherworldly kenning of the fey, she is forewarned with dreams and sensory knowledge. Even though ghost-gray mists shield the ancient passes of Glen Shane, Tamlyn knows the dragon will come, and that his coming will change her safe little comfortable world forever. At first, when set upon by ChallonÃ?¢Ã¢â??‰â??¢s men and rescued by the Dragon himself, Tamlyn chooses not to tell him her true identity. As the story unfolds, their volatile mutual attraction blossoms into a love bound by destiny despite treachery, betrayal, and strong differences that threaten to keep them apart in a land on the brink of chaos at the mercy of Longshanks. A RESTLESS KNIGHT is a virtual feast for the senses. Ms. MacGillivray weaves history through this breathtakingly sensuous tale like gold threads in a tapestry, with a true mastery that can only come from her heritage. You will be there with these unforgettable characters from the moment the mists part, and they will stay with you long after you consign the book to your keeper shelf. ItÃ?¢Ã¢â??‰â??¢s been a long time since IÃ?¢Ã¢â??‰â??¢ve read a real historical romance. This is one I cannot recommend highly enough by a multi-talented star on the rise who promises more of the same. I canÃ?¢Ã¢â??‰â??¢t wait!

The Dirty Life is the tale of a farmer and a city girl setting out to run an innovative organic-produce farm, battling the elements of nature and each other along the way. As the cream-flecked milk and salt-of-the-earth potatoes flood across the page, the hungry reader is reminded of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Farmer Boy tale, chock-full of the hard work and sturdy food that built America. After the city girl’s initial meeting with Farmer – shocked and fascinated by his earthiness and brazen generosity so unlike her city men – a romance ensues that is, like the steaming heaps of compost that surround it, direct and without guile. She brings him home to her family, who are more shocked than fascinated by his inside-out t-shirt, dirty crates of still-pulsating vegetables, and boxes of eggs barely cooled from the henhouse. But in the end they, as she did, fall in love with the food and embrace the man and his dream. This organic dream is overflowing with treasures of the loam. Perils of ice, weeds, and skeptical neighbors have to be contended with, but an overall theme emerges above the callouses of labor: plenty. There's plenty to go around. There's more than enough to share. Excesses of love, food, generosity abound. There’s nothing lacking when we dig deep into The Dirty Life.

JANET EVANOVICH DOES IT AGAIN. SHE IS AN EXCELLENT, IMAGINATIVE WRITER. THE ADVENTURES OF STEPHANIE PLUM AND HER FAMILY, FRIENDS AND MEN IS ALWAYS INTERESTING AND HUMOROUS. HER WRITING ALMOST MAKES YOU BECOME THE CHARACTERS IN THE BOOK. I WILL CONTINUE TO READ ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING WRITTEN BY THIS BRILLIANT WRITER.

I like my dictionary, having orginally bought it for a sign class. It's much like a typical written word dictionary but with pictures, of course! My only complaint is that the pictures are kind of small, and, at my advanced age, I would like to not have to strain to try to "read" the sign and its movement. Maybe I should look for a large picture version!

We bought a table and chairs for our kitchen. We had a galley type kitchen and needed a dark wood to match the cabinets and two classy, small chairs. We looked at several furniture stores, because we wanted simplicity and style. We got both from Overstock.com, at an amazing price. This is a winner website to purchase from. They are ethical and provide quality product.

I have learned Spanish since I was in the 1st grade at public school. I received a 99 on my Regent's HS Exam. I speak it decently. However, recently I started to assist a Hispanic individual to learn English. Some words and expressions I have not used in a long time. I purchased this dictionary to assist me. Also this individual also uses Spanish words I am not familiar with. I find it in this dictionary, which helps both of us t communicate better, and learn new words. I would highly recommend this dictionary for just about all ages.
