I heard about this book on someone else's blog. It sounded fascinating, so I surfed around and discovered that I could get the best deal at Overstock.com. It arrived in a timely fashion and I am enjoying it immensely. The directions are clear and concise, and the projects are great. I've been sewing most of my life, and this book still interests me. The only problem is that I don't know what project to start first!

I have been teaching the Godly Play program for two years but for some reason did not know about this book, I love this book. It really lays things out much more. It is a must to the beginning of Godly Play if you don't want to go back afterwards and fix some methods you had used without it.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place is the story of Aron Ralston, a mountain climber who gets his arm stuck under a boulder and is trapped there for 5 days with no one knowing where he is. He is hiking on a simple course for him and a large 400 pound boulder falls on his arm and pins it against a wall. For 127 hours he is trapped with just two burritos, a few liters of water, and isn’t able to sleep due to the fact he isn’t able to sit. Aron eventually runs out of water and has to try and drink his bottled urine. He reminisces in memories of past climbs while chopping at the boulder with a knife with little effect. Overall, I’d give Between a Rock and a Hard Place a 3.5/10. It isn’t anything that I’d recommend if you are looking for something exciting. It isn’t even something I could sit through again. It can get very dull and dry. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good documentary of what happened, but you can pretty much just skip the 200 pages of useless material.

The book is a good basic overview of what is involved in organic livestock farming, but it covers to many topics to go into great detail on anything. If you are just trying to get an idea of the kinds of things you need to be thinking about as you contemplate going into organic livestock, or if you are in the early stages of decided which animals to raise, this will be useful and enjoyable. However you are going to need much more detailed information before purchasing animals of any kind. I feel like the chapter on horses was totally out of place in this book and I'm not sure why it was included. Horses are completely different from any other livestock since we are not harvesting their meat or their milk. I don't really think someone who is setting out to start farming livestock to make a profit should ever choose horses without first being a horse person. It is very difficult to profit off of them. Otherwise I enjoyed the book and found it useful for my purposes. Now I've gone on to purchase books about the specific animals I think will work for me and continue the education process.

I read this book after reading Into Thin Air and watching three movies featuring Ed Viesturs, including David Breashears' IMAX film. I was curious to read Viesturs' own account on Everest. The book is fantastic! Viesturs credits his co-author Dave Roberts for the quality of the writing, which is excellent. But I'm sure the stories and the tone of the book have a lot to do with Ed Viesturs as a person. He is not only one of the greatest high-altitude climbers, but also a wonderful human being. His integrity and respect for the mountain and people are evident throughout the book. The Mountain is also very informative. I thought I knew everything there was to know about famous Everest climbs, but I was wrong. I learned so much about the history of climbing Everest and its true heroes (who tend to remain unknown if they don't speak English ...) from this book. Really, what a treat to read The Mountain! I've already ordered all other books by Ed Viesturs and Dave Roberts.

I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who knows or works with someone on the autism spectrum. I have a four year old son with autism and this book has given me an insight into his world. Dr. Grandin does a wonderful job describing what it is like to have autism. I have a much better understanding of my son and had about a dozen "ah-ha" moments just in the first chapter. My relationship with my son has improved tremendously after reading this book.

First in the series of the Knuffle Bunny shenanigans. The "K" is pronounced in this story but you don't know that is the pronunciation until the second book in the series. The illustrations are delightful with a mixture of real photography and drawings. It's a story about a child not being able to communicate to her father that her favorite stuffed animal is missing and her father, being an adult, has no clue as to what her real problem is. Look for the pigeon in the story. The author wrote the pigeon stories, too and he put that character in this book.

These books are very charming and my almost five year old daughter loves them, however the grammar is really awful. I know the author is trying to convey the speaking ability of a small child, but most young kids including my daughter use much better grammar than the main character, Junie B. We just substitute proper English when reading and the stories are great and a quick read.

Seasons of Tomorrow Amish Vines and Orchards, Book 4 by Cindy Woodsmall Seasons of Tomorrow is a great tale of an newly established Amish community . You read about the lives of four couples living at Orchard Bend Farms in Maine. They are working the canning season and harvest while struggling to make a go of the community. Rhonda Byler finds herself part of a new Old Order Amish settlement, where she is a horticulturist. She has recently broken up with her boyfriend Jacob and has started dating his brother Samuel King. Jacob has to return to the Orchard to help out when Phoebe and Steven Byler’s lives meet tragic circumstances. In the mean time Leah Byler falls in love with Englischer Landon Olson. This book is action packed, fast paced and full of drama. The couples of this community deal with the challenges of living in a strict Amish community while facing the temptations of the world the live in. The struggles they face are similar to those faced by new Christians wanting to live a life that is pleasing to God. I am a big fan of Amish Fiction but this is the first I have read by author Cindy Woodsmall. I found this book to be well written, with characters that pull you in. Seasons of Tomorrow is book four of a series but it can be read by itself but would be much better read as part of the hold series. The author intertwined the stories of the three other books in this one so it was easy to know what was happening. I have not read the other three but plan on reading them as soon as I can my hands on them. I received a copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest option. I recommend this book to all that love Amish Fiction and Christian Fiction, I give it 4 stars. I want to give a high-five to the author Cindy Woodsmall and publisher for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. Blogging for Books provided me with this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for their, the authors and publishers generosity.

OK, I hate that I bought into the "Disney trap", but I don't know my niece well and she likes "Frozen". BUT, I was in a large mall and saw this set, selling for $ more than Overstock. I then checked other stores, as well as some popular book-selling websites. I sat in the food court at the mall and bought the books here, saving $ off the next-lowest price! With free shipping, I couldn't see buying anywhere else!

I don't write book reviews, as you will be able to tell, but I was prompted to write a review about this book. It was a wonderful book which I understand is a combination of three books that I have not previously read. It was a book almost as much about the history of Florida's islands as it was about a particular man who made his reputation there. I will have to say you are hooked with the first section, bored almost to tears and quitting through the second section, and left wanting more and more in the third section. I would highly recommend that you slog through the middle part, because the end is so worth it.

My 7 years old daughter loves the Junie B. books. They are very entertaining, and she can certainly relate to the stories and the point of view of a kid her same age. I don't love the fact that the word stupid, and some other silly words are in there, but they hear them at school anyhow, and she knows not to repeat them. Now she wants the whole series ...so I know what to buy her as a reward or a new present

Generally this is not the type of book I’m accustomed to reading and I don’t know what possessed me to read this one but I’m glad I did. If everything in this book is true then there definitely is a God and many have been duped into thinking otherwise. There is as much reason to believe in God as there is in believing anything else. My eyes are opened now and I now know why there are nonbelievers. Almost every TV show, movie and publication is mocking and trivializing the Judeo-Christian faiths. Now the media all seem like so much anti-God propaganda to me. I recommend this book to anyone who would like to see things with a different perspective. A perspective opposed to the godless, biased, hateful and cynical side we've regretfully become all too used to.

All of my nieces and nephews have loved this book. They ask for it to be read to them over and over again, they just can't get enough of it! We have biological nieces & nephews and adopted ones, and they have all made this book a part of their bedtime reading. My sister-in-law has even made it her nap-time ritual to tell our sweet one-year-old nephew how every member of their family loves him, but most of all Jesus loves him, then he gets a kiss on the head and lies down and that's how he knows it's nap-time. It doesn't get much better than that! :)

The product itself isn't exclusive to Overstock, so my focus is on the supplier. If this is the book you are looking for, then you have found it. That sounds ridiculous, but I have had a very hard time finding this book with this cover. There is an older alternative cover that doesn't seem to show up on ISBN searches so most sellers don't display/know what they have. Overstock did, and they assured me before I bought it that it was the same cover as that displayed.
