I am a huge fan of Eric Carle's stories and illustrations. The three books are some of his very best stories. The books are sturdy and durable, perfect for little hands. I did have a problem with batteries that were not functioning in the Firefly book, but resolved it with the purchase of new ones. My grandson absolutely loves these stories.

Frog Girl is cautionary tale of a NW Native - a young girl who saves her village from the destruction of a volcano - by returning captured frogs to their homes. It is partly a tale of compassion and kindness, partly a mythic introduction... It is utterly lavishly and wonderfully illustrated in the rich dark colors of the Pacific Northwest. Rather than an exact retelling of a specific Native Northwest story, it includes elements of many stories; and it is even further accessible in that it has a detailed index at the back for further study (by older readers). Parents have commented to me that their children seem very engaged in Frog Girl and Storm Boy (also by Paul Owen Lewis) and ask numerous questions, and want to hear the stories over & over again. This is out of print in hardback, but this is paperback is about the same size and inexpensive. You won't be sorry! Worth is for the illustrations alone.

Debra Webb continues to keep us the reader involved in the story. Especially in book 6th she is dealing with several series cases, one is an old- cold case The Man in the Moon, which is a very old cold case. The other one is with Eric Spears, who seem to not go away, and now both cases are at the forefront of her cases. If you enjoy suspense with romantic then you have pick the right book. For me I so enjoy the element in trying to figure out the how, and the why, and the when. Debra Webb is just that type of writer, because she keeps you on the edge of your seat, thinking you know the fact, and then she has to add more twist and turns to the story. Her books are like a roller coaster that has the thriller aspects, and you will enjoy the ride. You need to get this book now!!! If you havent read this series you need to pick them up today!!!

We saw Eric Litwin in concert last summer and pounced (no pun intended) when we saw Pete on Overstock! It was much smaller than I anticipated, but it was a happy accident. The size is perfect for our three year old Pete the Cat fan!

Debra Webb continues to enthrall in this next book in the series. Jess has to deal with not one but two seriel killers vying for her attention. Eric Spears is back to haunt and taunt Jess. The Man in the Moon a very old cold case has reared his ugly head and draws Jess into tryig to fid him. The whole time Jess is dealing with rather large problem in her life... is she pregnant or not. Debra Webb does a superb job of expressing the anxst that Jess feels as she tries to work the case and come to terms with if she is or is not pregnant. Cannot wait for the next book in the series and the prequel of when Dan and Jess met up at the Publix

These are very, very cute; however, they lack a date field, so you must combine the date field with Time or another line. The person I was holding the shower for, loved them. We held a book and diaper only shower and she was given a few Eric Carle books to match the invitations.

Playing with Fire by JJ Cook Stella Griffin has been in Sweet Pepper for 10 months as temporary Fire Chief. Her three month leave from the fire department in Chicago has long been up. Its time for her to make a decision to either stay or head back to her life in Chicago. Her parents Sean and Barbara along with her ex boyfriend Doug show up to convince her its time to go come home. Stella is reluctant to leave without solving the forty year old cold case of the murder of Fire Chief Eric. Eric is the resident ghost of the cabin she is living in. He was thought to have died in a fire at the silo but his remains turned up in the wall of the fire station. Who is in Erics coffin? With the help of Erics friend retired chief of police Walt Fenway they look into the murder. Eric may be a ghost but the pranks he plays on Doug are hilarious. I loved his escapades. The author JJ Cook does an outstand job of bringing the characters to life. They have such personality. She did a great job of incorporating Hero, the fire brigades adopted Dalmatian puppy from the novella Heros Journey into this book. Playing with Fire earns five stars from me and I hope there is another to soon follow.
