Are you the type of person who buys up every nicely designed journal in the universe, only to stack them up, empty, as very quaint dust magnets on the edge of your nightstand? Me too. I'm a serial journal-failer who, despite having earned a master's degree in English, never deems anything I scribble with a Bic pen worthy of permanence in a nicely bound book. Enter the Q&A 5-year Journal. Every day gives you a prompt, so you don't have to pause for your tough inner critic, who says stupid things like, "Will my great-grandkids care what I ate today?" or "Should I just tear out this rant about that dude who cut me off in front of [hellish suburban megastore]?" No more. This journal gives you something to write about—and a finite few lines to write it in—so it actually gets you excited about journaling. Just answer the question, or don't. That's fine. But either way, get this, and write in it. You will not be sorry.

By the author of the blog Scissortail Silk, this book speaks to young moms who are looking for hope in everyday life and to strengthen their relationship with God. Becky Thompson has successfully built an online community of women who follow her blog, and this book is a genuine, heartfelt extension of the same topics. Hope Unfolding shows readers how to find grace in what can sometimes be the graceless job of motherhood. Becky shares with readers that there is purpose in where we are standing today, and advises us to “…plant ourselves in grace and let the Lord wash over us with His love as we experience the miracle of…hope unfolding.” From finding the beauty in everyday situations to leaning on faith in our greatest times of crisis, we uncover scripture put into relatable terms that guides us to put our trust in God. Written in prose as one would speak with a good friend, and interjected with humor, the book is an enjoyable read. “Sometimes, we don’t even realize that we need hope until someone offers it.” Hope Unfolding gives moms a starting place to find hope and a place to come back to when they forget it. My copy is underlined and highlighted all the way through with advice, scripture and ideas that I want to revisit again and again. A wonderful read for anyone who is feeling a little lost or overwhelmed in their role as mommy, or just for anyone who wants to become part of the Scissortail Silk community and Becky’s “Good Mom Movement”.

When the binder came, the hinges didn't match up which makes turning the pages almost impossible.

I read this book several years ago and highly recommend it, especially to those who enjoy a bit of a history lesson along with their suspense. The author, Erin Hart, did her research on Irish place names...something I found very intriguing. Hart keeps the reader guessing until the very end about the head found in a peat bog.

Stranded, Alaskan Courage Book Three by Dani Pettrey Darcy St James returns to Alaska and a job she gave up to help out her friend and former coworker Abby. They are former partners as investigation journalists. Abby has stumbled upon a big case and needs Darcys help but when she goes to help Abby has disappeared from the cruise ship. The last person Darcy expects to meet is Gage McKenna. When she last left Alaska she left a part of her heart and never expected to see Gage again. Together they face danger and fight for their lives. This is the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by the author Dani Pettrey and the first in this series, I find it to be well written. It is a fast paced book that grabs and holds your attention. I had a hard time putting it down. Although it is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone, I had no problem following. I give this outstanding book five stars and can not wait to learn all about the rest of the McKennas in the first two books. This author is sure to find her way to my favorites. I want to thank the author Dani Pettrey and publisher for bringing good clean Christian books like this one to readers like me.

Erin McCarthy is one of the really good contemporary writers. I am glad Overstock has some of her books; more book and author selection would be appreciated. I would like to see used books peddled at Overstock as well, like Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Certainly the shipping fee is so much cheaper here. I am happy with this purchase!

Surviving Henry Adventures in Loving a Canine Catastrophe by Erin Taylor Young I LOVED this book. Henry is a boxer with endless energy. It was refreshing to hear the antics of others peoples pets. I found the author Erin Taylor Young, to be quite funny and found myself laughing so hard I cried. In all Henrys antics he was still loveable, reminds me of a kid with ADHD. Always into something but never with a malice heart. Henry reminds me of some of the dogs and cats I have owned or fostered. I admire the way the author summed it up, I love this dog because, maybe this is the sum of countless choices. Every decisions Ive made to keep going, keep working, keep trying had added up to loving Henry with my actions, even when my feelings were anything but. Funny how the warmth of emotion caught up to my choices somewhere along the way. Like finding a rare gift in s beat up box. The author did a fantastic job of describing Henry with love and passion. I give Surviving Henry 5 stars and would loved to read more about him. I normally do not read much non-fiction but loved this one and would consider others by this author. I want to thank the author Erin Taylor Young and publisher Revell for bringing good clean funny Christian books like this one to readers like me. I would also like to thank The Book Club Network Inc. for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

My son was thrilled to have the set in hardbacks and likes the case they come in. Not a bad deal for the value.
