If you haven't introduced yourself to this author, you owe it to yourself to do so. I just discovered him this summer & I now own everyone of his works, including this childs book. Regardless of age, this book is an inspiring story with a life long lesson. Richard Paul Evans is a creative & talented author that possesses the ability to captivate from the first page. You rarely can predict what is next or the valuable lesson each novel reveals. Remember the name: RICHARD PAUL EVANS and read all of his literature. He will warm your heart like no other and you will never be the same! K. Chandler Austin, TX

This book can be summed up in four words: courage, perseverance, sacrifice, and love! I was touched by Paul’s story about his daughter Monica in so many ways. Having had a child born with physical challenges and in the beginning we were told mental also (which later proved very wrong), I could relate to the Daugherty’s beliefs. We determined to help our child be all that they could be within their abilities and to stretch their even in those areas. We refused to give up and accept medicine’s status qua for their life. That choice was criticized by many but had far reaching results in their adult life. I applaud Paul and his wife for looking outside the box and helping Monica have the life she deserved, not the life others thought she should have. Their love was apparent in the unfaltering battle to help their daughter not only in her education but preparing her for adulthood. In working with Downs Syndrome children and even other children born with disabilities, it is heartbreaking to see parents give up from the beginning of the diagnosis. I have seen parents even worsen the situation by focusing on what is wrong with the child, pitying and coddling them. Instead of not looking to their future by helping them develop the best of their capabilities. This is what the author and his wife did. Monica was raised to believe in and accept herself. Not as the world saw her but as she truly was. Her parents showed tough love to help her grow. They respected her as an individual and a person by allowing her own decisions in areas she could. The Daugherty labored on past their frustration and exhaustion in dealing with professionals and authorities who were determined to keep their daughter in the Downs Syndrome “box”. What Monica accomplished is incredible. While this is not on a negative note at all, this after all was his story. But did not agree with the choice the author made for his daughter preparing her for marriage. You have to read this book! Yes, it is a beautiful story about Monica, her life, and the battle her parents fought for her, but it is much much more! A wonderful book with many lessons for all of us to learn! I received this book at no charge from Harper Collins Publishers in exchange for an honest review. The opinions I have stated are my own.

Richard Paul Evens is a gifted writer. His Christmas Box started a yearly book in the holiday spirit. This work is very different then all other books by this author. It tells the story in so much detail that as you read, you feel like you are a part of the story. I eagerly await the next book in the series, Michael Vey...Rise of the Elgen. IIf you like suspense, you will love this book. I higly recommend it.

Excellent book. Ron Paul's writing is elegant and it's clear how deeply he cares about the issues. I also highly recommend his more recent books like Liberty Defined and End the Fed.

The book is wonderful as all of Richard Paul Evans books are. Was very disappointed in Overstock shipping. Book was released on September 17, but was not received until the 19th. Will not pre-order from Overstock in the future.

This book has a great message for children old enough and is a nice story for those not old enough to understand the "real" message. The artwork is fantastic and will draw any child into the story. It would be a great gift for any child around Christmas. Richard Paul Evans is a thoughtful, sensitive author.

Paul Enns, after losing his beloved wife of 45 years, found himself thinking more and more about Heaven. I have experienced this myself after losing my precious loved ones who have trusted Christ as their Savior. The way the book was written touched me at a very personal level. It brought back memories and thoughts of my loved ones as I reflected on what they would be experiencing in Heaven. Heaven Revealed answered a lot of questions I have asked myself and a few I hadnt thought about. This is one of the most comprehensive books on this subject I have read. I appreciated how easy to read it was. There wasnt a lot of theological jargon to wade through. Anyone could read it and without difficulty grasp the material. Some books I have found are filled with the authors opinions or ideas, but this book is saturated with Scripture. Everything he says is documented with Bible references. It became a Bible study as I looked up the scriptures he shared. I think it will be a great lesson for a group or church class. I really liked the illustrations he used and personal experiences about his marriage and wife. Another thing I was impressed with is that almost every chapter had a box with a bare bones outline of the facts covered. This made it nice when I wanted to look back and have a quick review. The book inspired hope and comfort in me. I know that someday I will be there and how wonderful to truly know what my Lord has shown me about my future destination in His Word. In exchange for my honest review, I received a copy of the book from Moody Publishers.

I recently purchased "The Christmas List "as well as "The Christmas Box Collection" (3 stories) by Richard Paul Evans. I had seen the TV production of "The Christmas Box" but I thought the book was so much better. The other two stories in the collection explain more about the characters in "The Christmas Box". I am still reading "The Christmas List "and find it hard to put down each night when it's time to turn out the light. Mr Evan's characters seem very real and his books speak truths without being "preachy". I consider this a very good buy.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've read each of the books written by the original four members of KISS. Great to hear about all the behind the scenes activities.
