  • Mini-memoirs by some of the "Friends of Will"

    Nov 3, 2014

Snaddy03  from Willamette Valley, Oregon, Rating:5.0

First, the FEEL of this paperback book invites readers to return again and again--so it's great for the bedside or backpack. The non-glossy, texturized, watercolor-art cover pleases the hand and the eye, and the binding of this Vintage Books paperback allows it to lie open, flat, on its own. This readable book is a collection of mini-memoirs, you might say, from a wide variety of performing artists and writers (not academics) who agree with editor's title that they've had personal relationships with William Shakespeare and his works. These 10-20 page essays tell us, in general, how they got involved with the Bard, and in what ways they've loved, and/or struggled, with his complexity and artistry and epic qualities--both in their professional lives (good for students of their work) and their personal lives (good for admirers of the writers themselves). Many writers share life-changing experiences they've had, as well as significant insights into their known professional accom...

  • Love Bridget Jones book

    Nov 4, 2014

    40+  from California, USA, Rating:5.0

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy makes me laugh every time I read a section. The general information i.e.: location, number of children and circumstances leading to being a single mum are different than mine. However, the details are the same. The struggle with technology, the fashion, the weight gain/loss, the dating faux pas, the younger man, the struggles, the career work are the same as mine. Thank you Helen Fielding, I no longer feel alone. I recommend this book to the middle aged women of the developed world; it is such fun!

  • Quick and Entertaining Read

    Oct 29, 2014

    SuperWoman38  from London, Rating:4.0

There aren't many people these days that are spreading goodness, happiness, and peace. This is a novel that is fun to read but also helps people and helps the world. I enjoyed a little of this book each evening before falling to sleep and surprisingly I found the positive themes and hopefulness was waring off on me. I was 'more zen' with my children, at work, and with my spouse. Mostly I guess I was more zen with myself. Matilda speaks often about self acceptance which has been something that has been difficult for me in the past. It was difficult to hear in the past too, but through this entertaining story it is as if it actually touched my heart. Not many books do that these days... and for that I am thankful and recommend this novel to everyone!

  • Terrific read, speedy delivery

    Kosmo  from Atlanta, GA, Rating:5.0

The book is about a massive snowstorm and how it affects three groups of high school-age kids. It's told by three different authors each telling the perspective from a different character. We found out that the Universal Studios bought the rights to the book and we're hoping they make it into a movie. Thoroughly enjoyed the book and loved how the stories intertwined. We ordered two books, one to keep and one for our library. They arrived quickly and in perfect condition.

Loved the first two books in the series, and this one doesn't disappoint either. Great read!
