Having already read the Harry Potter books I was skeptical as to whether I could get into the audio books. I received the first book as a gift and decided to give it a try and needless to say I purchased this book, finished it, moved on to the third and have just purchased the fourth! The storyline for the Chamber of Secrets almost seems better listening to it on audiobook. The man who does the narrating is amazing! He is so talented at giving each character their own personality and voice that it is incredible. I would recommend these books to anyone especially in the audio format. Reading the books is good but takes a while, watching the movies gives you the image of the characters but there are so many changes between that and the book, but the audio book allows you to sit back and be entertained while still getting a good image of the characters (probably better than how you would read it) and doesn't leave out anything like the movies!

This book was written almost ten years ago and it shows. While I accept and believe a lot of his statements, the author spent too much time trying to convince the reader of his abilities as a medium. I enjoyed the last part of the book, the true medium came out. I hope the author has evolved his thought to include other avenues that do not include his Christianity; it interferes with the truth.

Set in Saskatoon, for me it's almost like an alternative world - small city in prairie Canada. The plot line developed well, the characters seemed believable, and the trip to France made me jealous. For a book with a gay protagonist, the alternative life style was handled well and not pushed as an agenda. Plus I laughed out loud numerous times - and enjoyed it to the end.

My mother and I had afternoon tea and a breakfast at the Wolseley on her first trip to London this year. I was struggling to find a Christmas gift this year, then I remembered this book on the Wolseley website but it was sold out! Overstock saved the day and this little book was just perfect. The photos are beautiful and I know she often looks to the book for recipe ideas.

This book was quite a departure from my usual fare of historical and Amish fiction. I wasn’t sure I would like it but I did! Wealthy, rich and spoiled, Jessie Stanton’s whole life was about material possessions. She seems to have the perfect life and marriage, that others only dream of, until her world comes crashing down. With no warning or explanation her husband leaves her with nothing except the clothes in her closet and her wedding ring. Her only support is her best friend, Piper. Once her status and money was gone her other supposed friends abandoned her. She hires Danny Callahan, private detective to find her missing husband and he soon becomes an ally and a supporter. To make a living she decides to open a store renting out all her designer clothing and accessories to women who cannot afford to buy such things. This was a fun book with some serious lessons. Jessie is somewhat of a sob and had been detached from the “real” world. Her culture shock and disdain from being introduced so abruptly to this life sad but also humorous. It was almost as if she was dropped into the middle of another culture with no clue. As she is humbled, and shed’s the fake affluent person she had become and begins to grow. I enjoyed watching her change. Stripped of her worldly life and all the trappings she thought she could not live without, her eyes are opened. Danny’s strong Christian example begins to reach her. She recalls her Grandfather’s faith in God and especially his prayers. Most of all she remembers her roots. She learns she is strong and can make it without prestige and wealth, and be happy. Jesse also finds the meaning of true friendship. As I watched her overcome challenges and succeed I found myself cheering her along and excited about what she would do next. I am looking forward to reading of Ms. Bricker’s books! I received a copy of this book free from Abingdon Fiction. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Absolutely love this cook book. All the ease of a box cake mix with just enough additions to make it taste slaved over! My kids use it too. We are always pulling it out and finding some recipe that fits the random ingredients in our house.

With great enthusiasm, I set out to find the best price for the Fallout 4 Survival Guide, the perfect match for the game that I have been waiting years for. Unsure where to look, I checked all the normal places, including Bethesda's website. However, with the assistance of Google, I saw it listed for a great deal cheaper than I saw it elsewhere, including the shipping. Taking the chance I ordered it. When it came it, it was perfectly sealed and had everything it promised. The book was in pristine condition, and it almost seemed a shame to open it. I highly recommend anyone wishing to purchase the Vault Dweller's Survival Guide to do so here, you save yourself time and money, and it, like the game is worth the wait.
