For the price of the entertainment system plus the games and accessories, it is well worth spending the money. In regular retail store you would have spent more for the bundle package.

First of all, the core system here of just the PSP 3000 is a fantastic product on it's own. It's versatile and can do a myriad of things such as play MP3s that are loaded onto the system, Videos that are loaded onto it as well, movie discs that are specifically made for the PSP (both MP3 and video files are loaded form a computer via USB), not to mention play games with graphics quality that is on par with a PlayStation 2. My only detraction as for the core product is that it does not ship with a memory card, something that gamers know you must have if you are going to save a game. Without a memory card you also cannot put MP3 or video files on the system either. I recognize that full sized consoles to not ship with a memory card, but for a hand=held like this where you need a memory card for full functionality I think it would be best in Sony's interest to ship one with the system. I know that this is a different league of system with a Nintendo DS, but with the DS system you can save your games from the get-go; it has built in system memory for gaming.The accessories package was great. I loved having the smaller UMD disc cases so I don't have to lug around a larger sized case for games when I am on the go. There are connectors so you can hook up your PSP to a monitor/television, as well as a car charger so you can get more power on a long trip. This could come in handy for kids in the family on long long driving vacations, as the battery in the system only lasts five hours. The two discs of classic arcade games are great to have as well for a time when you just want to do some quick gaming to pass a little bit of time instead of longer games where you must find a save point somewhere depending on how long that might take; experienced gamers know that could be a while. I only gave three stars on suitability for all ages because one of the game discs has Mortal Kombat I, II, & III, and the violent moves in those games might not be the best for smaller children.Overall I'm going to say that this is a good buy for someone who wants to get a PSP because it is a good starter system. The absence of a memory card stopped me from giving five stars, so just be aware that you will need to pick up one of those.

What a value! This is not the latest version, however it works pretty much the same and plays all the latest games. The accessory kit helps with the nickle and dime add ons that get so costly. The games included are a little young for my son age 11, but he still loved it!!!
