For me the book was a let down. Ninety percent of the book was a blow by blow of her television show. Who was on it, what they sang. blah blah blah. It went on and on and on. I didn't find it interesting and skimmed an awful lot of the book. It did touch on her life some, but mostly about her shows. It would be okay as a thrift store find, but not an almost *** book.
Carl Reiner's eagerly anticipated follow up to his masterwork My Anecdotal Life, I Remember Me is geared more toward retro obsessed 20 somethings with short attention spans than to those who "Remember When". It has 55 very short chapters of about 2 to 3 pages long each, along with several large pictures (which would take the aforementioned group about 2 months to finish). For the rest of us, it can be read in a single sitting. My only major complaint (and why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars) is that about 25 percent of I Remember Me is recycled from My Anecdotal Life. His tributes to his late wife, Estelle are deep and heartfelt.
